Depressed shanshu Spike

I read a fix once where Oz finds Spike in China or somewhere similar and contacts Buffy (post NFA I think). She goes to him but he is depressed and hates being a human, is not interested in accepting her love and determines to kill himself. She can't convince him otherwise and eventually leaves. Eventually he gets himself revamped, in Paris I think, and finds her. Any ideas of title/author????
