AH fic, Buffy and Spike are Best Friends but met 10 years ago when he abducted her

Hi there! I just passed by this fic a few days ago, and now I can't for the life of me find it. It starts with Buffy filling out an escort survey as a joke. She and Spike are sort of tumultuous best friends, and you find out halfway through the story that they originally met when Spike kidnapped her and held her hostage when she was out at a club with her friend who she was visiting in England. Spike ends up sleeping with her there. She lives in England full time now, and also later found out that she was kidnapped because her friend's dad is a mob boss of some kind.

Oh, thank you. That's very nice to hear. And, you're very welcome. I'm glad I knew the story right away. Well, I knew the story but like you for some reason I cannot for the life of me ever remember the name or the author. I mean, even I have a hard time finding it again when I want to, which has been half a dozen times or so now. I had to go down a huge list of stories I have saved that I was reading or have read to find it again. I don't know why it is so forgettable except for the brilliant story part of it. So weird.

I think it's partially because the author has written nothing else? And the title doesn't really resonate with the story? Or maybe it's intentional. A lacuna is a hole or gap, so maybe the author's name is itself causing a gap in the memory.

Also, I kept searching for abduction and kidnapping and the summary says Hostage!

If you read the later chapters, I think the title makes sense

Sorry if this is out of place, and if it is I'll make a separate thread,
but does anyone know about plans to update for this story?
If I remember correctly the author's note said there was one chapter left,
and yes of course he/she probably has more important things going on,
and no it hasn't been that long, but I really do love this story and I figured
I'd ask.

No, the question is fine in the thread for the story. I personally have no idea when or if the next/final chapter is on the way. If anyone else does I'd be thrilled to hear about it. I have always loved this story.

I was about to read this until I saw the later comments...if the final chapter is currently non-existent, does this story 'end' in a good place? I can't bear to read unfinished fics, they drive me crazy wondering what happens next...

As for whether it ends in a good place... well,
the last posted chapter implies that the next is definitely not of the epilogue
type, and it seems there are things left to be said.
There was a confrontation implied at the end of the
most recent chapter.

Having said that, though WIPs can be frustrating,
I'm holding out that this'll be updated. It's one of
my favorites, but knowing the above it's up to you
if the loose end is a deal-breaker.
