Love triangles

Looking for any fics that feature real love triangles where either Buffy and Spike are caught between each other and another (oh I sound like a bad love song). Can be AH or slayer/vamp just as long as there is real conflict and angst.

There is another really good one where Spike is married to Dru, Angel is there son and Buffy has been Spikes mistress for two years. I think Spike works in Real Estate for his father. Buffy is in uni or doing a degree they met at a book shop, good fic but for life of me cannot think of the title. I'll get back to you when I find it.

These are all human stories where one or the other of them are with someone else when they start their attraction to each other and some include an actual affair while the other relationship is intact and others simply cross some lines before making the switch.

I want to preface these particular recs with the statement that I don't want to hear any 'ew, Angel has cooties!' comments about the recs because maybe you yourself (whoever is reading this, not the original requester) might not find this your cup of tea but someone coming after you may be very interested in these quite good meaty stories that do meet the criteria of the search. So if you don't like 'those kinds of stories' just note the rec and move on. There is no need to voice a disparaging opinion on what you simply cannot tolerate in your stories. Just skip them. Now, that said, here are some triangles that are not all human and are part threesome with Spike, Buffy, and Angel but are spuffy in that Spike and Buffy do wind up growing closer and closer and becoming the real 'couple'. And I really like them. So I am rec'g them because they deserve it.

Summary: An Angel/Buffy/Spike romance. The three are thrown into a relationship by mutual needs but end up deciding this is the best relationship for them when they realize they are in love with the other two. Set after season 3 with canon rearranged to suit the story.

Sequel to Three Hearts Entwined

Summary: Life changes for the threesome. They have to learn to work together, and love together, as they start a new business and Angel's curse is lifted.




Dreams and Nightmares By Abbyland

Summary: Believe it or not this is Spuffy in the LONG run. Buffy is raped by Spike and Angel but it's not as straight forward as it sounds. There are sinister forces behind it and it is all a part of a bigger, diabolical plan to fulfill a prophecy.

More than Strangers by Sadbhyl AU/All human
Summary: A chance encounter between a married Buffy and a mysterious man ends up being more than just a casual affair. A continuation of Strangers in a Cafe by PepperlandGirl4. (The original story is included as chapter 1).

These are canon ones. I know a lot of people don't like Spike with someone else but I have a fondness for them (I'd have him!! )

Sort of within the criteria, Eowyn315 wrote an Alternative Season Six that has a Jacob and a Susan (!) making up a love-ish and wobbly "square" (at least in the later instalments). It's more in the 'Buffy wants a normal relationship' genre, but still... Also, I don't think this tale gets near enough love.

Slaymesoftly's Lovers and Lethe also fits - if you'll accept amnesia and a spell

Buffy comes to LA looking for amnesiac Spike. Set one year post NFA - things aren't quite what they seem, but it takes them a while to figure that out.


Divinity by Sass Angel. Warning being the same as above

Take one Slayer with some serious guilt issues, stir in one unsouled vampire with some significant memory lapses and what do you get? A post-grave fic like you haven't seen before. Four part conclusion. Yeah, I was suprised too.


.......and a complete stretch of the friendship is None Other Than You: A Spuffy Story by nonothrthnme. There's the almost fiance Tom who's worth the price of admission.

Buffy's got a life now. She's taken up normal, nice and cosy,No weird, no wild, no fires burning, just a staking here and there. No big. Not like she craves it, or something. Or someone. Then it all hits the fan with a dark threat to the line of Slayer, her line. With hell comes fire, a flash of heat that beats in her pulse, makes her feel alive, vital, useful, and an old flame is just the one to bring it: he and no other.

Thank you guys. You have all recc'd some really great fics. I had fallen back into watching the soap I used to watch and was looking for some angsty hearts torn in two places type fics.
