In the episode where Spike and Anya hook up in the Magic Box, instead they get completely plastered and Spike wishes he could go back to when he first came to Sunnydale and make things better.
Anya, of course, grants it and Spike (now in the past) tries to help Buffy and make her fall in love with him.
