Post NFA, LA a war zone, Spike dead

I vaguely remember reading this fic a while ago, and I think it was from a forum post, but I can't seem to find it.

The NFA battle didn't go well and LA is overrun with demons. The only people in the city are the slayers, and maybe some initiative-type soldiers. I know the soldiers were at least guarding the perimeter of the city and controlling who went in and out.

Buffy is in the city, or maybe went to the city, and is very sad/upset because Spike is dead. I think maybe he died in the first battle. But she believes/knows he will return. It's been a long time he's been gone and she's been there waiting... Like months or years. He does show up, I think some of the other slayers find him while out on patrol.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? It's driving me crazy!

It does sound familiar, but I'll be dammed if I can remember a title or author. Sounds like it may be set in the comics verse (Angel comic more so than the current season of Buffy or Angel/Faith) I'm coming closer to remembering... maybe something by coalitiongirl?

You could be right about the setting... I have no idea. I wish I could remember more, like who else was around and whatnot.

I kinda doubt Buffy was in a relationship with anyone else, particularly Angel, because I usually wouldn't like that.... but who knows. I just feel like she was really focused on Spike coming back. I want to say that maybe she wasn't even talking, but I'm probably wrong about that.

It sounds like Enigmaticblue's Now and Always series. It's in 3 parts, -Latter Days, Faithfully Dangerous and Now and Always. The war in L.A. takes place in parts 2 & 3. It's on her site.

I looked through Enigmaticblue's series, and I think this must be the one! So much of it seems unfamiliar to me, but several parts are just spot on. I'll be reading it to be sure.
