Buffy finds out spike is her daughter's father

I need help finding a fic where buffy is married to riley and at the start of the fic he is on his deathbed. He ask spike to look after buffy and their daughter. Spike has always been in love with buffy and was the one to help riley get buffy. It is later revealed in a letter that spike is actually the father because riley only shot blanks due to a brief illness as a kid that left him sterile.

Unfortunately, that's not it, but it does sort of remind me of it. The one I'm looking for is much longer and there's actually a letter that buffy reads from riley that says that spike is the father. But thanks for effort.

I would encourage you give Lambean's suggestion a read because I'm pretty sure she is correct. That is a unique fic and fits all your criteria.

I already read the one she suggested and unfortunately, that's not the right one. Its a good read, but not the right one. The one I'm trying to find it a longer fic, the author actually put a letter in the story that explained that Spike was actually the father of their daughter, and Buffy and Spike ended up together at the end. I read it a while back, maybe that's why its hard to find.

I'm not sure what to make of the reposted story, it is just chapter one of the original but it says it is complete. The original story is over 35000 words long.
