Fertility potion

I'm just reading Check Mate by Xela and the fertility potion reminded me of a fic I read once where Spike took a risky potion (risk unknown to Buffy) to get her pregnant and turned all 'William' under the potion's influence but I can't remember any other context to place it. Can anyone shed any light?

One that's very close to what you're looking for is Kari Mouke's Catching Flies. Spike doesn't turn into William but he does have to drink a potion so he's human long enough to get Buffy pregnant. It's a great fic (it's by Kari after all) but it's no longer on line. If you'll PM me your email address I'll send it to you in a word doc.

If "Catching Flies" is not the story where Buffy has to get pregnant with the key, that girlie_mel mentioned, can someone please post the title. I would love to read it

I don't think it was to do with the key, thought that one sounds interesting too, what was that called girlie_mel?

Spike didn't actually become human, he just behaved like William (overly proper and stuffy) whilst under the influence of the potion. Buffy was really annoyed when she found out afterwards that he knew it could have killed him to take the potion but was relieved when he was 'Spike' again.

If Kari's fic has been offline for a while it won't be that one because I read the one I'm thinking of in the last year (I'll drop you my address for that one though anyway, thanks).

Any further thoughts anyone?

There's a fertility tea in The Babyverse by Mrs Muir, the second part. Its as EF.

No, I'm pretty sure it isn't that one as this was more of a fluff/comedy with him becoming all virginal and proper as William under the potion. I'm also pretty sure it was at revello drive too.

As an aside, I can never decide if I like the second part of the babyverse because he is such a douche bag and it doesn't really work following the first one for me. Consequently I've never bothered reading the others.

I didn't remember it as her being disgusted but yes I think she did see it as sleeping with a stranger a bit and definitely wasn't pleased and found it awkward and was glad when he returned to normal Spike. I don't think Spike realised he would go all William either but Buffy was really annoyed to find out he had put himself at risk doing it without consulting her. Basically the event didn't go down well though the motivation was understood.
