Buffy finally calls Xander on his feelings for her.

Hi guys, hope everyone is well.
I've been racking my brain for the last few days, but finally had to admit defeat and come crawling to you all for help! Please?
Unfortunately, I can only really remember one specific scene, and I'm not even all too clear on that as it is.
What I remember is something along the lines of Buffy and Xander facing off in her front yard, with Buffy calling him on his feelings for her, saying something like: "Look me in the eye and tell me that if you had a chance with me, you wouldn't drop Anya in a second?"
Additional info might include a scene with Anya telling Xander that he has to make a choice between her and Buffy. I think that is what leads up to the confrontation between Buffy and Xander. It could even be that Anya is present in the yard as it takes place, and as Xander doesn't immediately answer Buffy's question, Anya turns and begins walking away. Buffy makes it very clear to him that she has no interest in him romantically, and so Xander does the whole 'chase and grovelling' thing.
Any and all help in pointing me in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

Ok, the specific line you are talking about takes place at the end of "Tempt Me Not" by Addie Logan; however, Anya is not in that scene. There is a scene like the one you described at the end of "Trusting You" by DreamsofSpike, but everyone witnesses that metltdown thanks to Halfreck's truth spell.

I swear I *just* read a scene like that in another of DreamsofSpike's fics, because I never read Trusting You. I think it might have been Belonging.

Whatever it was it was either Belonging or it was one of the fics I read from the recs on my "fics like Service Unit" request last week. I'll look further when I get a chance later this evening.

EDIT It was none of the above it must have been one of the other several dozen fics I read in the past few weeks.

Nina, you were right, it was "Trusting You by 'DreamsofSpike'. That was the one I was looking for. I guess I must have got a little mixed up in my stories, and my brain was trying to put two together. I read so many, sometimes it's hard to keep them compartmentalised.
Anyway, as I said, thank you both for taking the time to try and help me, and Nina, thank you for the answer.

I'm trying to remember a story with a similar scene only it takes place in the Bronze. Buffy is being bitchy Buffy for some reason and suggests to Xander that he gets Anya out of the way and maybe they could have fun. I don't think she's serious but Anya overhears. Ring any bells?
