I have read at the least two and at the most three fics, where Angelus, not Angel, is a carring family member. One was Catching Flies by: kari mouke, the other was a vamp Buffy fic I don't remember the name of. No all human please. other than that...

Thought I would add, Angelus does not have to be good. In fact, he can be gooddy gooddy, protect them but be gritty, dirty, and have no care in the world as long as his family is safe, or strait up evil. This applies to Buffy and Spike as well.

All the Angel family-vibe fics that come to mind are all Kari's but I think Angel is Angel rather than Angelus for a least the majority of the fics but mainly because the full separation of his unsouled persona is removed somewhat in them I think.

It is a while since I read it but I think Primal by kari mouke is very family based (a/dr b/s) but I'm pretty sure Angel remains souled in it, but it has the family feel in spades (as much as I remember).

Similarly, The Fallout by Kari Mouke has the four a/dr/b/s together but I am uncertain if Angel is souled or not. I think Buffy is some slayer/vamp hybrid in this one.

Another one by Kari Mouke that is mostly dr/s/b but incorporates a as well (towards the end as I remember) is Taking the Initiative. I am pretty sure the family thing incorporates him as Angelus but that change is right at the very end.

I personaly like Angel when he's not a jerk. But Catching Flies was amazing in the way it handeld the "why would Angelus help" aspect. A lot of fics have a vague mention that the old(pre soul) Angelus, and canon Angelus, were very different. Even in flashbacks during the series I could pick up differences. He seemed to care more about family than just being an uncaring 'you know what'. To me at least.
