I did read one more besides these two, It was more than a year ago and I cannot for the life of me remember where. There is a scene in that particular fic where he sort of talks to Willow. He says he doesn't think Buffy is made for normal. I think it was during 'As You Were'. They were discussing Willows suspicions about Buffy seeing Spike.
The fic itself was not really very good, so maybe it's an OK thing that I can't remember. I found it in the WBM though.
Riley was typical Jock type character who lacked any real depth and, I feeel bad saying this, was acted by someone who just never fit in the show. He lacked the personality.
He was mostly harmless otherwise. It did bug me that he ignored his buddies making Jokes at his dates expense though. Chalk it up to typical jock-frat guy character.
Also the scene where Buffy chases his Chopper was demeaning, and my least favorite scene for her character. That had nothing to do with his character though.
I am currently re watching the show with my 17 year old niece who's never seen it. We just watched that episode recently so it was fresh, hence the ramble. |
