Buffy abducted to Greece and undergoes transformation

i just remember a few general details of this fic. There's some big evil who kidnaps Buffy and takes her to Greece. She's to be the power source for some demonic ritual. The Scoobies race after her to try and save her but fail to do so before the ritual takes place. Spike does manage to interfer in some way, though, and he and Buffy undergo a big transformation.

I'm extremely aggravated at myself at the moment - it was not that long ago I read this fic and now I can't remember the title or the author. I really hate when that happens!

Is it Cretian Escape by madrog?

Summary: My entry to the post-Chosen club. This also includes some Angel characters but none of S5. Spike is back, but then Buffy is gone. The rest is summed up in two words, Cretian Escape.

Sounds like Eurydice's The Hunt. There is a scene like you described towards the end of the story.
