Throughout the Buffyverse, we only really saw like one or two Vampire clans; The Aurelius and the El Eliminati (although I think that wasn't really much of a family, more of a cult).

I always thought that it would have been interesting to have Vampire wars and politics going on aside from the show's usual formula of a Big Bad per season. Unfortunately, Joss didn't really show much of the vampire part, aside from focusing on the two masters; Angel and Spike, and the rest being minions or fledglings. Not that there was anything bad with that. It certainly did not make the show any less than what it was.

I have read stories where politics do take place. Stories such as Origins by Niamh, and a maryperk story (the title eludes me at the moment, but there was some vamp politics going on).

This thread is about any and all stories that have vampire politics. I don't care if it's only a small part of the story, or if it's a big focus in it. Of course I do request that Spuffy be the pairing, although I'll take gen fics as well.

My favorite portrayal of vampire politics is in Nan Dibble's series, beginning with Old Blood:

While controlled by the First, Spike sired a number of fledgling vampires, something he'd specifically refused to do ever before. Recovered by Buffy from the First, Spike sets out, with Dawn's help, to assassinate those fledges, while assisting Buffy with training the SITs and trying to avoid resuming their destructive sexual patterns of Season 6.

Vamp politics also play a role in part two of A Terrible Thing by Herself. They don't figure as prominently as they do in Old Blood, bit they're important to the plot, and I like to rec this fic every chance I get:
