Its Spuffy based AU where Buffy really was locked up in a mental hospital for raving about vampires only it was all in her mind, when she finally comes "around" she has to start her life over and "Spike" or William as he really is, is her best friend (when she first lost her grip on reality) and human and he is still around when she comes out of it

Although it doesn't quite fit that description in that she meets William after she gets out, and some of my fic takes place in season 6 and 7 of BTVS. The ending is ambiguous as to which of the worlds is real, and which of her lovers - Spike or William

No thats not it, although that one looks interesting. The one im looking for Buffy and William are best friends before she is sent to the mental hospital and its William that Buffy confides in about the vampires etc. Also im pretty sure Buffy catching Hank cheating on Joyce is what trigged Buffys slip into the vampire dilutions. And once Buffy comes out of her dilutions her and William eventually fall in love but her is hurt that she turned him into Spike a evil vampire how would hurt he so much.

What if the events of 'Normal Again' did happen and Sunnydale, and everyone in it, was just a figment of Buffy's unstable imagination. What will happen when she comes back to the 'real world'?
