Hi. I am looking for a fic about spike getting the Gem and using it to "stalk" Buffy while she is at college. He inserts the ring into his chest so not to lose it. He leaves Buffy gifts and she doesn't even know that it is Spike when she bumps into him on the quid. Its daylight outside and she feels his skin is cold but she doesn't think that this guy could be a vampire since he is standing in the sunlight. Sorry I am rambling. I just have been looking for this fic for a while. I have only read it once. Thanks to anyone who knows what the name of this story is.

It has similar elements, such as Buffy bumping into Spike on the quad. They talk for a moment (and Spike fakes an american accent and gives her a false name and Buffy notices his cold hands) but he doesn't have the Gem inserted in his chest, nor does he leave her gifts. So there's a chance that it isn't the one your looking for.
