for some reason i thought this was the journeys series by mary, but i must be thinking of something else. it's a long alternate season six fic - possibly in the form of sequels. what i remember specifically is that towards the end of the main plot, xander and anya are married successfully, spike and buffy are in a quasi-relationship when he witnesses/is the victim of some kind of car accident, sees children die etc. and realises he has to go find a way to get his soul back. Then Warren's stray bullet kills xander instead of tara, and the evil willow plotline progresses a little differently as well. |
