A magnificently crafted complex tale. I just loved it. Even though you say you don't plan a sequel I'd love a little epilogue to see how Buffy breaks up with Riley ,and what happens in your version of Hush with Buffy & Spike fighting together against the Gentlemen. After all Riley doesn't know that Buffy was his invisible assailant...

Summary: Doppelgangland, When the portal opens and Vamp Willow comes through, Spike comes through as well unknown to the Scoobies. I can't think why I've only just found this fic, but I've been well and truly hooked. After Buffy cared for wheelchair Spike and never slept with Angel the dynamic at the beginning of season 4 is completely different.
Having Buffy no longer in love with Angel and still virgo intacta when Spike turns up looking for the gem and is at risk from the Initiative presents so many opportunities for Spuffiness. I shall await developments with immense interest.

Author's Response: well i did have another story..sort of spinoff to this one...it follows the scoobies, giles, dawn, and spike in the time buffy is dead for 80 years...its not finished...and it wouldn't be that spuffyish---since buffy's dead. But it would have had Spike dealing with grief and growing as a character into someone good.

I started reading this fic ages ago and then lost it, so having found it again I went right back to the beginning.
All I can say is BRILLIANT, MASTERFUL WORK. I was sightly confused by your timeline at first when we came in immediately after Something Blue yet Giles and Anya already had the Magic Box and Dawn was there, but I soon forgot that anomaly and was immersed in the drama. I always liked the Spike& Dawn and Spike&Joyce friendships, and you've developed them beautifully, while also giving us some perfect Spuffy and revealing the shortcomings of Giles, Willow, Angel and Xander.
I've just clicked the 'liked' option in the little recommend box, but for a fic such as this there really should be a 'loved' option.
So... where's the sequel then?
