i say it was a fantastic chapter! personally loved the finishing line and the dialogue. I can see the characters acting out what you're writing and i am absolutely riveted. Please don't think you can't write when you're anxious, use it to your advantage! If it means more angst, give the story more angst, not only will it help get some off that stress off youre back but itll help you suss through things as well as rev up the readers to NEED to know what's coming next! i can't speak for everybody but that's how i feel.

Author's Response: Yeah, I was a little worried about all the angst in this chapter. This was meant to be an angsty chapter, but I'm positive it would not have been nearly as extreme if I hadn't been feeling the way I am at the moment. It was like the only way I could get the chapter to form was to splash it with all the crazy emotion going through my head, and I was trying not to! I'm glad it didn't scare you guys off. Well, hopefully, it didn't scare anyone off. If I keeping writing under stress, it could be an even bumpier ride. Guess we can all just hold on. Thank you so much for your comments. You guys are making me feel less like a super freak, which is really, really nice right about now. :)

Hmmm, so i just finished updating Drown with me and then to my outmust surprise and happiness you have updated both fics that i'm currently reading, im so happy!
So the smug bastard does have a plan, i love it! i also love that Spike isn't resentful that she made the save, that's real teamwork!! Dru and Angel, no big shocker that they forget their place, Angel always forgot his place in Buffy's life, it's refreshing to see a unique twist on that aspect of him. And Dru, well she's fucken' nuts so nothing she does shocks me, just pisses me off lol. I'm sorry to hear about your fish btw, it's not pathetic, it's a lost friend, be it a gerbil a fish a cat or a fucken' camel, if you love them the loss is devasting!
I'm really loving this story, and though i don't like Joyce it's nice to see Buffy acknowledge that her mom had a hand in her coming here to compete. It shows a mature side to Buffy, one that understands for every flaw there is something good behind it in someone. Can't wait for some Spuffy interaction, i love the way they talk to each other, and their thought processes when it comes to the other.

Mhm, I thought about that too. I mean, if Spike was resentful, what would it say about his character? In this particular fic, the people most likely to be resentful of Buffy's success would be: Dawn, Riley, Darla and Drusilla. People like Oz, Doyle, Angel, Spike and Tara are the positive members of the team! *high fives*

Yeah, see, about Joyce, I didn't want Buffy to appear like a total brat who didn't really appreciate what she had. That's just plain annoying, right? I thought, "Hey, what if she actually acknowledges her mother's role in her soccer career?" While Joyce was never truly supportive of Buffy, I think it's crucial for Buffy, as a growing woman who is moving into, well, womanhood, to understand that if it weren't for Joyce, she wouldn't even be in L.A. I agree with your terminology "mature". : P


Mhm, I realize the pace is very slow in this fic, in terms of the Spuffy interaction, but it will definitely get there, so no worries! I'm trying to build the story up, make it more realistic and hopefully by then, everyone will still be reading, huh? ; )

EEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKkkkkkk lol, i waited for that every time an episode aired, i truly wish it had ended like that. Anya having real friends, Buffy having real friends, Spike having real friends...the people who deserved them never got them. when Anya died in the show i was devastated lol, as well as Spike obviously, and Buffy's 2nd death hit me hard too. Notice how it was all the misunderstood characters that always got offed, even if in some cases it was only temporary? i love that your story offers the complete opposite of the whedonverse, not that i didn't love every part of his creation, but some happiness for those who deserved it would have been wonderful.
I'm very happy with this story, so great job shakes, you did it!!!

Author's Response: LOL When I saw the beginning of your review I was like, "Hell yeah, this has been a damn good day!" Haha, yes, I TOTALLY agree. Spike+Anya having friends was something that I yearned to see but alas, it was not meant to be on air. And you worded it perfectly: the people who deserved them but never got them. Despite the fact that Clem/Dawn's involvement with this fic is crucial yet just plain weird, I think that in the end it was characters like Dawn, Clem, Spike, Anya, Tara and Buffy who were all imperative in just being there for each other, y'know? Haha, yeah, I noticed that too! I mean, c'mon! Spike *and* Anya? They couldn't have offed, like, Giles or something? The guy *deserts* Buffy in season-what? 6? Right? Right after she comes back *From the dead* and he gets to live. *waves hand* Eh, the Whedonverse cannot be questioned, since I'm a Whedonite, but still, I have my doubts about it sometimes! ; )

Wow - I just read the first 5 chapters and while I feel a slight tweak of guilt for not reviewing each one I blame you - this story is fantastic. I really am loving it from the realistic teenage tantrums Dawn is having to Spike's nipple ring - I never thought they were sexy btw, until you wrote that he had one lol. I also like that Buffy has a different room in this, I don't know why - it's such a smaller detail than a lot of the others but it seems significant so good job. I really can't wait to read more of this, good job - seriously!

Loved this chapter, again I mention to you the alcohol - awesome idea lol. I can't wait to see what else I get to read, looking forward to seeing how you're going to make this play out. Awesome job!
