So, not only you update soon, but you give answers to questions at the most perfect moment... Good timing ;)! The idea of the photograph is a perfect twist in the story.

So, Spike will have a lot of bills to pay concerning his health. First: a mental disease “the knight in a shining armor” syndrome; second: heavy problems of sight. And now, serious need of a dentist, because it seems that the boy doesn’t stop to greet his teeth…

The way you picture Spike’s behaviour is simply perfect. Indifferent, cold: a perfect stranger to Buffy. I have to say that at each line, I felt an strong urge to stand up and shake furiously the boy ;)! Not only for his cruelty, but for his stupidity too.

Spike sees with disgust Buffy in her “her happy bubble ». But he has been himself in a bubble since his arrival in this school. A bubble with very opaque walls.He is so sure to be in his own right, hating and scorning Buffy, and he seems even proud of it! But not in front of his mother Joyce (nice character :) !) of course ;)!

And THE big moment, when his bubble shattered in thousand of pieces :)! When he sees THE photograph of Buffy: pure moment of perfect bliss!

Finally, the Light of Salvation comes over him :):

“Spike, feeling like his eyes were open for the first time since they had looked upon the dark beauty of Drusilla, realised that he didn’t even know why her friends had ditched her.

Something had happened a year ago; something dark and terrible, but he had never been told what. Bloody Hell; he had never even asked. »

And he will not have to see an ophthalmologist ;)!

And the final scene, with an all alone Buffy, who has waited for Spike, makes me sad, but in a way, relieved. Yes, Spike didn’t come, but if they went to the Bronze, things could have been worse. Maybe Spike thought that between two bad situations, it’s better to choose the less bad: not going with Buffy to the Bronze and “save” her. But no doubt he will have to present very good reasons (with some groveling too) when he will see Buffy again. I hope to see at this moment a strong and angry Buffy than a tearful Buffy ;)!

Oh, dear, oh poor, poor Buffy. You know what? This is shallow, but I hope Buffy isn't seen by Spike now, she must look like a wreck, and with the sudden like/dislike-y thing Spike's got going on, even though he seems to be all pity-Buffy right now, he'll probably say something stupid.

Hold on a minute, is that really Buffy's notebook? It's not possible that it's Drusilla's, and Dru dropped it near Buffy, or something like that?

Its sad that he stood her up coz although he didn't play a joke on her now he did stand her up which to her was just as hurtful!!! but im sure u know wat it is ur gonna do with this story and ur doin really well so far!!!

okay...so we're gonna do this cronologically today....(is that how you spell that?) who cares...

i love the book Buffy got him. so thoughtful, but he didn't even thank her for it!! i realize he was pissed at her at the time, but he was still supposed to be pretending to like her, and hello... i'm sure he actually loved the book.

next order of business...asking her out. i love Buffy's reaction, but it's paintful to know that Spike didn't mean a word he said...or didn't mean it at that moment. but how can he not feel a liitle bad, i mean she was crying...but i would probably cry buckets of happy tears if Spike ask me out too.... :) ahh living in the dream world is so nice!!

and Joyce...gotta love her. i love that she's known Buffy for two days but is already happy she didn't have to play matchmaker. i was surpirsed that Bufy was so excited in front of her. but i'm still going with my theory that she has no one else at home to be happy to. Joyce is already so protective of Buffy and i love it, with her telling Spike not to hurt her.

next! :) the yearbook. so i'd like to point out that i did guess the person in the picture was a realative, so i take that as being partly right, i mean Buffy is realated to herself! ;). but i actually didn't even think that the picture was of her. good work! heehee.

Spike's reactions seem to have a pattern going on here. he finds out something he doesn't like about Buffy, which is of course false, then gives he the cold shoulder and the charade is in place, then finds out the information is wrong, and feels bad. well he should feel bad. the boy assumes way too much!!

so lastly...the ending. that hurt. i love how you described everything though, very nicely done. but i want to know where Spike actually was, cause he couldn't thave been at home or else Joyce would've torn him a new one, and made him go to Buffy's quickly. ALSO!!!! he was going to pick he up at her house....major news!!! Buffy never wanted him near her house before, and now when he was gonna be there, and he stood her up!! not cool.

so, i'm gonna live in my happy world and assume the reason he stood he up is because he didn't want to take her to the bronze with Dru and everyone there because he didn't want to humiliate her, and if he told her they were going somewhere else, more private, Buffy might think Spike was trying the hide the fact the he asked her out...yep, that must be it. but boy do i feel bad for her...explaination time!!!

Aw, poor Buffy. But also kind of good for her otherwise she would've been humiliated and stuff. But she doesn't know that. She probably thinks Spike is an ass. All the drama ^-^ I really liked this chap.
