Aww, damn it! I had tears in my eyes when he left. So sad. I was afraid at first that the cop costume would only help Buffy see that it was just a job for him, like she wanted to prove to herself. But that was without counting on Spike's very expressive face. That man wears his emotions on his sleeve for sure. At least she's starting to realize that she's not just another customer.

But if he had, the cop costume would have done what you mentioned and then Buffy would feel nothing for him, just see herself as another job. Spike does indeed wear his emotions on his sleeve. I don't know why anyone would be disappointed with this chapter. It was just perfect. I loved how overcome Spike was with emotion, so much so that I panicked and ran.

I just had another thought that I had to get out ... I really believe that Lorne and your Muse were actually brillant in choosing the (what some may say cheesy) cop uniform. He HAD to show up in something that was a big stretch and probably sexy/cliche ... something that would take playacting that Lorne/muse knew would ultimately fall apart quickly. He couldn't show up all suave and debonair ... that would NOT have crumbled as easily and if it were easier for him to pull off and he could stay in character easily then they would not have had the revelation that they did.

Did I just babble that whole thing?

It's late, but I just wanted to put that out there. You really are more brilliant than you are giving yourself credit. Or, maybe your Muse is so tapped into Lorne that you have no control. heh heh heh

Author's Response: Yes there were some who thought the cop thing was cheesy - and they would be right. But I'm glad you saw it for what it is in the bigger scheme of the story... an obvious 'act' (situation) that needed to be 'seen thru'. I could have picked something else, but at the time, that's what the muse decided on, so if some don't like it that's ok - can't please everyone, nor would I try. It simply wouldn't be MY story if I did. Thank you sweety. I don't know about being brilliant - but I hope I have my moments of it lol.

Great chapter. I'm so happy that they both finally came to the realization that they feel more towards each other than just physical chemistry (although they definitely have a lot of that) even if they can't verbally express it yet. I can't wait to see how you develop their relationship. Gotta say... cop uniform... kinda cheesy, but I'll take Spike/William any way I can get him. Yum.

i dont know about the other negative readers, but i liked this story. it could have been a bit longer, but that's just normal, me asking for more. sure the cop routinne is a little bit overdone, could have stayed away from that, but hey, still naughty fun, right? as always i absolutely love it, want more and anxiously awaits the disaster about to happen. were will we find our beloved couple herenext?

Okay, I think I'm the bonehead here. When I read chapter fourteen, I was so excited about the front door cliffhanger, I didn't even check to see that 15 had been posted. Damn! On the bright side, I had a great chapter tonight. Angsty ending...whatever...romance isn't half as fun without some problems. I will not question your writing, especially when you served up a fantabulous scenario. Cops might be cliche, but I do believe they get the job done. Am I right ladies?!!!
