I'm enjoying this story very much. This Buffy is different and I love her. I won't be sending hate mail. I think you made a wise desicion to leave out the sex in this chapter. To me it helped the chapter and I can see how it will enhance the story in future chapters. I can't wait for Spuffy lovin, but I like it to mean something.

Quite possibly the best line i've ever read: “I will remember you.” Slowly he reached out and laid his hand over her heart. “Even after this stops beating, I will remember the lines of your face and the scent of your skin. I will mourn you and I will never forget a single moment I spent with you.” I love this story. LOVE.

Sex scenes can be a little overrated. If you didn't feel the need to put it in the chapter, then it didn't belong in the chapter. I look forward to it when it means something, but I like your logic of Spike and the readers both being unfulfilled. I also like that Spike is slowly trying to break down her walls.

Oh, I think you did the right thing about the sex....it was just sex for Buffy, she felt nothing really is what it implies and Spike knows it......and I'm sure you will add to it as she begins to feel something. Interesting changing of the slayers, and I'm so happy no Faith and Spike....LOL! great job

Love your decision to not write this sex scene; your reasoning is completely valid and I think the right one. I love that Spike got some brains early on and is taking things slow, approaching with friendship because that would be all Buffy could handle yet. Looking forward to Spike breaking down her barriers.

I totally get why you skipped over their first sexual encounter and completely agree with you on it. Who wants to read a story about how Spike gets off and Buffy doesn't, even if it's something she chooses? Their first real time together (detailed in this story) should be when they both feel the connection. Not necessarily love, but let the girl enjoy it.

Your choice here was the best. I love how Spike behaves towards Buffy and I can't help but wonder what it would have been like, if he had behaved this way on the show?

Author's Response: Thanks, but the ten people who have already emailed me are not so generous and the thing hasn't even been up a full half hour yet :( To me his character on the show was seriously miswritten S6. I mean we saw how he worshiped Dru and how he treated her with paitent concern and consideration but then he gets with Buffy and he is all rough and unmoving.
