btw: I have to catch up with the other story you updated; I have to many chapters to read. And I'm looking forward to read the brandnew one! ~ Awe, first Buffy discovers that she is going to love him and then we are back to the roller coaster ride of feelings and misunderstandings. And now they are both crying. Very moving written, loved the chapter :)

The brutal, fear-driven sex does not lull, it merely feeds Spike despair and Buffy's confusion. Buffy realises, rightly so, that the timing is all wrong for their union, of any sorts - but they would never have come together if it hadn't been for such a tumultuous turn of events.

They both hurt, they both weep, and even in front of each other, they are isolated; they don';t share a common bond, for the sex is a new, overwhelming thing for Buffy, whereas for Spike is it an outlet for his demon, and a transitory clutch at affection for the man. They don't approach their sexual activity in the same way and once the heavy breathing slows, Spike and Buffy are back to square one: creature of the night consorting with the slayer who, however inadvertently but still, killed his lover of a hundred years and the chosen one, the Slayer acting the lovelorn girl with William the Bloody, no less.

Does resolution come with time, understanding, a mutual parting of the ways - or death?

Sweetie, this was so beautifully intense! I loved it. You always can bring the perfect angst for our Spuffy. It's always sad yet fulfilling with such deep happiness waiting around the corner somewhere. It's everything that is our Spuffy. Confusing...chaotic...turbulent...torrid...and ultimately, sublime. That's how I found this latest chapter . The funny thing is though that's ALSO how I would describe the Spuffy relationship were I asked to do so. You did that on purpose didn't you? Coolness. 8-)
*Oh and thank you for the timely update...the blood was starting to settle in my extremeties with the lack of movement and I was beginning to get a little worried. LOL*

I was going through the motions with Buffy in this chapter and then I came to the end of the chapter and wonder now what happened. Chocked to death? .... *scratches head* Um.. well. Update soonish please because Duh ~ mega evil cliffhanger here ;-)

I really like the way you described the parade of vamps and the fact that you had them walking with her to the hospital. Before your explanation, I thought it may be some bizarre sense of duty to protect the Slayer (due to Spike's markings). I was thinking how cool it was that they wanted to protect her on her way to the hospital. Your explanation is great, though and does make sense. I like your writing style and the words you choose. Good words they are. :)
