That was such a great chapter! If only that prick Jeremiah would just fuck off and screw up someone else's love life, everything would be perfect! Sorry for the language, but I'm not too fond of that character - at all! I really hope he gets gone, and stays gone, so Spike and Buffy can get on with the Spuffy lovin! Oh yeah! Wow...there was some sublimely beautiful imagery in there and the way you used that 'beauty of us' thing (especially for the comic ending) was just gorgeous. Can't help but feel like the other shoe's going to drop soon however which just makes this interlude under starry skies all the more poignant. I mean seriously.
~She wanted to be able to let people in again, without automatically assuming they were lying to her, revolted by her, or about to leave her. Spike was like a pilot test for integrating herself back into society, so to speak.~
Yeah...like that'll end well, LOL! More soon. Please 8-)

fantastic. i've been reading this story for quite some time now, and i LOVE it. i really like the reality of the characters, flaws and all. Jeremiah is wonderful as well, he adds a light touch to a darker story.

Hmmm...  Wouldn't have figured Spike to send other's out to kill Buffy, since he's always been so eager to take slayers out, himself.  But, once again, it is a different take from what I usually find, so you still have my interest.

So Spike stayed longer then he intended.. (wonder if he would have stayed the whole day?) Oh Spike met Jeremiah *gg* and he is jealous. And it seems he fears the most that Jeremiah will spill the beans (about Spike still killing). And I think this was something he (Jeremiah) wanted to tell Buffy. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Heh! I'm thinking I'm going to join the Jeremiah admiration society too - depending on how much the annual subs are of course LOL! Do bring him back, it's nice to have someone to compare Spike against for a change. Speaking of whom...here's hoping Spike will grow a pair soon and be straight up with Buffy about his continued killing. I admired his brave honesty in BtVS, from being "man enough to admit" to being Love's bitch to the famous ~Spike: "Look at you, all hot and bothered cause you think I'm hot for your honey". Riley: "Because you are". Spike: "Well...yeah."~ It's such a come down for him to be pulling the wool over Buffy's eyes here. In fact I'd say it's beneath him (yep I'm going for a record for the most BtVS quotes in one review, LOL). More soon. Please 8-)

Author's Response: Jeremiah is steadily developing his own cult following. Perhaps a spin-off series is in order. Spike's honesty is a large part of him in the later seasons of Buffy but he's still pretty much evil right now. And evil people lie. But, not forever. :P

And WHY is Jeremiah leaving? I've gotten to like him... he's a cool vamp. Bring him back, please!

And, and... WTF does Spike think he's playing at, lying to Buffy about killing for blood. Like her, I believed him! Now he's gone and lost brownie points and Jeremiah is moving up the rankings... Spike needs to do some deft manoevring now to get back in my good book, or... I'll... I'll... tell on him!

Author's Response: Back to bed? Nah, they just did it again in the back yard :) Jeremiah is unpredictable, he might be back. Yeah, Spike's a lying fiend. He'll get his comeuppance. And he won't be the only one.

Spike musing upon waking up in Buffy's bed was romantic. His affection for her is nice to read. Spike's jealous reaction to Jeremiah was priceless. I hope Jeremiah's not gone for good. I'm looking forward to Spike coming clean about his killing ways. Buffy's turning a blind eye, but how long can that go on?
