It's reached that point where things have changed, though I suspect that confusion and denial (on both their parts) will muddy the waters. So many times the vampire kills of strangers is glossed over almost - but in this story Buffy feels it happening, has to confront it, albeit through the claim and the sickening moments of fear, then death are brutal wake-up calls to just who this sexy, leather-clad beast really is. She yearns for him and she abhors him - and herself, for her enforced compliance to this life.

The suicide attempt was her only way of controlling her own life, and although Spike then overruled that control by reviving her, it was a close thing - and a brutal wake-up call for him. He had to struggle to save her from his age-old companion: Death.

THANK GOD SHES ALL RIGHT. im so happy that he saved her and that he didnt turn her. also im so happy that he told her that he loved her and i really hope that she accepts it and realizes that she loves him too. i love this story so much and am so happy that u updated. i really hope that they work everything out and that they stay together and become happy. also i hope that he he stops feeding indefinitley and that buffy sees that hes not willing to let her hurt and sees that he loves her. please update as soon as u can, i cant wait to read more and see wat happens next between them. thanx

Sorry your internet went out. I hope you didn't get flames! ~ I'm glad Spike noticed that something was wrong. Oh my.. he was almost too late. *gg* Typical Spike: No! It's because I love you, you stupid bint!" They still have a lot to work through, but now Spike is willing to put some work into it too. He knows now that he can't continue feeding. We'll see how it will go :)

I wonder how Spike proposes to feed now? Interesting that he didn't just turn her..hmm.

It's hard for them, isn't it? Both have very deeply held beliefs, aspects of themselves that are integral to their very existences, that are being challenged and threatened by this overwhelming feeling between them.

Buffy is convinced it's all because of the claim and has sailed her emotions directly into the Land of DeNial. Spike knows it's more than that but still doesn't have a bloody clue how to deal with it. Turbulent times ahead, methinks.

Buffy's jumbled emotions are certainly a roller coaster ride. I thought her submission in the last chapter was going to end the conflict, but I'm glad she's still trying to escape Spike's control.
