Oh.. it was the claim itself that didn't let Buffy go. She needed the nearness of her made. So Spike came for her.. yet not in a good way. He tried to break her in order to make her stay. And yet he didn't like what he did to her. Now they bonded even more through their lovemaking (through the claim). I wonder if it will be an effect that influences their relationship or if it will be gone when they wake up. ~ Thanks for the update, Addie. You're very welcome :)

Yay! Go muse! *LOL* Great update, great chapter. I was scared at first too, and kinda shocked at Spike's violence and handling with his mate... his MATE, for crying out loud and even more surprised by Buffy's submission at the end. Must be a claim thing. But all is well... looking forward to next chapter.

This is a beguiling story that connects the dots of passion and despair with bound lives and death. Buffy doesn't just know it's happening, she is feeling the murderous bite of Spike through the link and in turn he is feeling her reaction. Both have to deal with unfamiliar sensations whilst they pull away and then towards each other. It is a giddying predicament and this could all be sorted by him turning her - but then that would be too easy and too much the natural, vampirical order of things. And Spike, with Buffy, never follows the rules .....

Hope your flow continues, it's good to have this sweet and sour story keep momentum.

That was a pretty powerful chapter..I tell you what scares me..In this chapter, Buffy is beginning to accept that there is no escape from Spike..So the next time that he feeds and kills a human, I'm thinking she might decide to kill herself..thinking that is the only escape.

As we see..Spike is capable of loving Buffy..but will he destroy her before he realizes he has to give in on some issues?

Wow that was an unexpected turn they took in their relationship. Actually they didn't really take that turn did they, it just kind of showed up and was all with the 'take me or die' LOL! I wonder what the aftermath of this will be - Will Spike remember his whispered statement to Buffy at the end there, will she reciprocate, and HOW will Buffy reconcile herself to her mate's eating habits?
