Poor torn Buffy.. So she knows now what it is to be stripped of her free will. If Spike continues like that (in order to protect her) he will be slowly killing her, breaking her. I wonder how it will effect Spike. But therefore your mentioning of dark chapters ahead I think.

Buffy as always fighting everyone and everything. spike was trying to help her out and trying to let her see that he is capable of feeling,. She just can't wrap her brain around it. You would think she would somehow be trying to get more information about her mother with him....but NOOOOOOO she has to make him play hard ball and he did. Excellent chapter hun. You did a wonderful job brining out Spike's persona as one who can dominate. The darkness is not a bad thing, you showing a side of Spike that was there in series. in the beginning.

Amazing how she keeps rallying the same lame arguments over and over. She has to know by now that she's just trying to convince herself of these things. It makes for a pretty interesting internal dialogue, I'd wager. And Spike forcing direction upon her. Such a fun little way to show her what power he had. A scary thing both because it shows her how he has power, and how he hasn't been using it before through all sorts of things. Really great chapter. Bring on the darkness!

I think if you start reading this...KNOWING and EXPECTING it to be a dark, angsy fic...then there should be no problem..
Even going into it knowing what kind of material it is..it gets hard to read about a character that has almost NO power to help herself. With Spike's ability to control her the way that he does, Buffy really has no say in what is happening to her.

That chapter... 3 words... oh my lord! It was amazing! The inner battle between what Buffy is feeling and what she knows is very well written, and the part where Spike took her free will away from her so prove his point... loved it! Excellent work!

If I was her, I'd run out into the bright sun and jump into someone's car, or steal one. Take it as far as I could, and just keep running. The further away she got, the less hold he would have through the claim.

Wow. Great chapter. Even if it was a little dark for my tastes. I have a feeling though that Spike won't be able to handle it. When Buffy pulls away, loses hope, and stops caring, he will change. Didn't he already say that he liked her spirit? Well that is what I think at least. ; ) Looking forward to more.

The reciprocity of the claim is a good plot device to make Spike evolve. Although I love an evil, unrepentant Spike, this righteous Buffy could never get "used to" random murder. I'm enjoying all the bitchy banter in this story.
