Ok, so I've caught up. Now I demand more. I love this story. Read it in one sitting. Well, one sitting with breaks... but all in one day! It's amazing! Loved the reference to Plato's "Allagory of the Cave".. hehe. Man, you really need to update.... I'm used to reading this story now, and now there's no more chapters. Major bummer. Hurry up you! =)

Well, I'm so glad Buffy went to that session but I noticed she really glossed over the part where she lied to her husband about Lindsay and lied to Lindsay's father via omission. Can't wait til Lorne learns all and gives out no doubt sage advice. Wonderful tale. One of my favs. Thanks for sharing this tale. more please.

Ah, Lorne, he's always a breath of fresh air. You have to love that man. I'm glad Buffy is making new friends and realizing that she's not alone. I do hope she would give Spike another chance though. He's a guy and they tend to make stupid mistakes. He really didn't mean to hurt her. Good chapter=)

I can tell already that Lorne and Tara are going to be good additions to the storyline. Having some outside advice will also be helpful in Buffy building trust again.

good update

laughing and smiling buffy is nice! maybe she really need to get out for a while... looking at her life like she were simply an observer. this way she can "escape from the cave", and join the shiny happy people. And maybe spike? but because she will choose him...

Lorne was the perfect choice to be the counselor. I understand why she is angry at Spike, but shouldn't that wane a bit now that she's had the whole explanation? He had a few more choices thaqn her, yeah, but he also got dragged and manipulated into the mess, too.

The group will do Buffy some good. Lorne and Tara too. Thanks for the update again :)

Great chapter and she needs to grow and find her own answers like you said. Hope she can.

As I wrote in my review for an earlier chapter, I agree with you, Brat. I believe that it is Spike's own fault that he ended up as the target for Buffy's anger. He denied her the possibility to directly confront Angel and Winifred. It should have been her choice to try and stop them and demand an explaination or not. However, she would have been able to scream her anger at them. Spike took that away from her. Now she feels that other people run her life while she is helplessly standing by. Perhaps Angel would have left anyway. But there's also the possibility that he'd chickened out and stayed because he felt guilty. Who knows... Was it for the best, that their marriage broke apart? Maybe... But it was NOT Spike's decision to make. Yes, she did not tell him that he was Lindsey's father and it was wrong, but he knew anyway. And the fact that Buffy had lied before does not make his lie any less severe. If I was in Buffy's shoes I would have kicked Spike's ass into next week.
However, I love your story, Brat. You show that it always need two to tango and that there is never only black and white, but mostly grey. Well, at least as far as relationships are concerned. :-)
Author's Response: Thank you, thank you, thank you!! LOL. I should have had you write my author's note for me! LOL. Seriously! You expressed that perfectly. :)

I'm glad to see Buffy finally getting up from a fall and brushing dirt from her pants (or skirt). Hope she mends that poor, bruised heart of hers.
Great job as always, Brat. ;)
Author's Response: Thanks hon :)

You know what? I hear what you're saying, and I guess I even agree with it. But what annoys me is that it's Buffy who gets to have the meltdown, taking all the choices. She's cranky because Spike didn't tell her? I think it's one thing to admit that she didn't tell him about Lindsey, but another to NOT tell him about Lindsey. He has room for some pretty major resentment and anger as well, and is he? No, because he is blind and a wimp for love. He wants his family and he's been pining for ehr forever, but she just walks all over him and he has so little backbone he's letting her. So yes, while those things you say in your author's note is valid, and I like a bit of angst too, you have so much more potential by Spike actually acting like a man and showing ehr that HE also has a life and if she wants to reject him for that, then maybe he can decide that she can't ever accept him for who he is. Maybe if Buffy had some of her choices taken away for valid reasons, rather than have them made for her or being allowed to wallow for yonks until she's ready to make the right one, she might come out of that cave and see that there is even more to life than the sun and the clouds. Sorry for that, just had to get it off my chest, but i do like this fic. I just get sore that Spike seems to have lost his balls.
Author's Response: I can say that he's backed off, and there is a reason for that. There's potential for all of them, I agree with that. Which will also be shown later lol. There is a method to my madness. The whole cave thing had to do with Buffy seeing that there IS more to life and wanting to take part in it. It was an awakening for her. But thank you :)

Thank you for the lesson. I think a lot of us need to think about all these issues.

Happiness is an update! Great transition chapter. It was really interesting getting into the mind of Buffy. I could totally understand why she was so angry with him. Just one more person to lie to her. It was also a very very bad time to find out. I'll be glad to get back to the happy spuffiness though even if I love the angst!
Author's Response: Thank you ! :)

I read what you had to say and really thought about it but I can't bring my self to feel for Buffy the way you might like your readers to. It's like you are trying a bit to hard to make us feel for Buffy but in doing this you are alienating those who feel sorry for Spike and making it seem like Buffy can do no wrong and the world revolves around her.
Author's Response: No, not trying to alienate those who feel for Spike, I did kind of set him up that way. I just don't think it's fair to alienate Buffy either is what I was trying to say. There are two sides to every story. But, I'm glad you're reading :)

Finally, some progress for Buffy here.
I'm not a big fan of 'group therapy' probably because I got overanalyzed myself.
However, when someone is hurting like Buffy is? She needs a venting place to go.
I'm glad for her and I hope that she understands that a person can only control so much in the world.
spuf
Author's Response: I was pondering her last night and I've come to the conclusion that Buffy is like an onion and the issues she currently has are all very onion like..many layers to peel back. She will, though :)
