I can't express how delighted I was to see an update of this. I read it some time ago, prior to becoming completely obsessed with this fandom and never thought it would be finished.

I really enjoy your writing style: your descriptions are vivid; the characterisation is spot on and the UST is fantastic fun!

what a coincidence... i'm trying to write something now, and i'm pretty scared of beginning a wip... so i tried to remember old stories i liked and never got to see finished. "that summer" was the first that came to my mind!

there will be more of this, yes? I was a bit skeptical of the premise at first, because I thought it would be super-schmoopy, but I'm really impressed with what you've done iwth this so far. I love your characterization of spike and buffy, and all of the friendship bonds are great. I also appreciate that you didn't bash riley. always nice for me, when canonical ties are given their due. and um...the dream-sequence with Spike jacking off? super. duper. hot.

Very fun to read. Kept my attention because I definetly feel this chapter to be the beginning of what some people call a story, instead of garbled nonsense. Character personalities stayed strong and consistent, adding so much more credibility to your story! Cant wait to read the next one tomorrow!

Awwww...Spike stayed up all night to make sure that Buffy was going to be ok..Now THAT is sweet.

BTW..I loved the "pissing the night away" comment that Buffy made! LOL

Buffy is going to be mortified - I can't wait! She'll probably pretend that the kiss never happened, but I'm looking forward to its aftermath. This was another sharply written chapter, and I hope that Harmony and Anya hit the scene again.

i believe she didn't do it on purpose but... vomiting on someone's shoes is surely a good way to live down an awkward moment (covering it with another one way more imbarassing)! whatever spike was gonna say after the kiss... a good glance to his doc marten's and it's totally forgotten! lol
