I popped back on here, quickly, to let wattie know how much I love the song!
I felt kind of bad for writing such nasty things about our Spikey, but I guess other readers agree.
Actually, now that I think about it, the Spike in this story is alot like the Spike from the show. I never bought his tough guy act on the show, always felt he was more William anyway.
The real big bad was always Angelus to me, anyway and I always felt that poor Spike was she an also ran who tried to be like him for Drusilla's sake (for some wierd reason!)
Anyway, what I meant to say is this:

i don't particularly care for this Spike, however, i can see that this aspect of his personality needs to be revealed for the plot's sake.
I think a writer, like wattie, who can bring so much venting out is doing a great job!

He shags Dru in Buffy's hospital and then turns around and says he can be the man Buffy wants? This Spike is too selfish and a jerk. He needs to be alone for a while and think about who he wants to be and who wants to be with. Glad Buffy isn't falling for his shit. Like your writing - this story is just one I can't get behind.

He tells Dru he's hers and shags her in the hospital room (which he was against earlier in his stay) then turns around and tells Buffy that he could be her man if he would let her? He wants Buffy to be is and him to be Drus? He would throw away his fiancee just like that? I'm having a really hard time wanting this Spike to have anybody let alone Buffy. He is a user and coward. I don't blame him for the miscommunication years ago (except he could have told her he loved her instead of leaving it all up to her to voice - coward) but he has turned into an ass. Glad Buffy's with Riley. Don't know how this can ever be resolved.

Thanks for making my non-award-winning-semi-bad day better...even if there wasn't as much Spuffy as I might have wanted it was great :)

And All these years you stayed with some random one-night stand. But me, your best friend, you could not even wait 24 hours? Poor Buffy :(

I like taht they're starting, at least it seems, to get a little closer to not being so stubborn aboutr certain tings...and thanks for the update :)

Agree with Spufette's review. The fact Spike is trying to be a better man by shagging Dru for years while writing songs about Buffy is just so disgusting. Did he think he could win Buffy over by showing his sexual prowess with Dru? Keeping Dru around while he is in love with someone else is treating both Dru and Buffy unfairly. Not the man I would want to be. It was a series of miscommunications that caused them to be where they are, but the way they handled everything speaks volumes about their characters. I don't blame Buffy for not being able to forget his 7 years of shaggin Dru. Glad she is dating Riley. I'm really enjoying your writing, but I can't get into this story because I don't believe this Spike is worthy of Dru or Buffy. I'll probably not be reading any more of this story. Will wait and see if you write another one and read that. Good luck.

Good. I hope Spike is miserable.
He cannot play both sides and it's time he got the drift!

I hope Buffy has a great date with Riley and Spike has nightmares about it all night.

Sorry, this Spike just pisses me off. He's wanting Buffy, keeping Drusilla around just in case and thinks it's everybody else's fault. Please.

I'm sorry, but my stance as "Buffy is acting like a bitch" still stands. I had to re-take the part about him playing music in the hospital...it may be against policy, but he asked the entire ward and no one minded but her, and because of that she felt the need to make him stop doing the thing he loves while he's in the hospital.
I also still think all the accusations she's made to Spike are mostly in her mind. He has no clue why she is SO upset about him and Dru and she won't tell him cause she deems it unworthy to tell him how she really feels.
Hopefully she can start taking some responsibility on this unforgivable action that as plagued her since high school.

Loved both of the chapters. Well except for the parts where everything is going to hell. I can understand Spike and Dru not breaking up, maybe. But the owning him part? And the Riley thing is even worse. You have to make him die or something really soon cause just the thought of Riley makes me want to lose my cookies. More please.
