Even Spike being so sweet didn't seem out of place. He's so, so, well he's such not an asshole of a man!

I recently heard a great quote that really applies to this chapter-- "Even when we're speaking the same language, we aren't really speaking the same language." Great way to demonstrate how easy it is to let one's insecurities and assumptions really bugger things up. Seems it's so hard to just be really brave and strong by being really vulnerable and open yourself up by saying what you really feel toward the object of said feelings. Excellent chapter!

How emotional... all this misunderstandings. It could have almost gone wrong. But only almost. I'm glad that Buffy noticed something and talked to Spike!

AWWWWW HOW SWEET. i really hope that tehy work out there confusions and doubts and that they get and stay together. i love this story so much and am so happy that u upadated. i really hope that she makes his doubts go away and that they admitt there feeling for each other and that he claims her. also i really hope that they destroy riley soon, i really want him to die.please update as soon as u can, i can wait to read more and hope that everything wokrs out. thanx

Finally, it clicked to her. That's just Buffy, though. She doesn't process things as quickly as some people, but she'll get there eventually, if she's open to it.

I like the story and its written well. But please please so tired of this weak spike. Real spike would never want pity or anyone to have to save him all the time. I know at some point you going to stop having be a victim and turn him back into the master vampire he is

ChrissieLinnit....you're very right about that..she was totally clueless about emotions and motivations.

Part of it is that she shut a good part of herself down to be a Slayer...when it really handicapped her, instead of helping her do her job.

She's slow on the uptake, you know? If she knows that there's something horrible, then she can feel terrible for that person, like with the story of Julian. The problem is that she *thinks* shallowly on a general basis, dealing with the action at hand, and it takes a nudge and some thought later for her to catch up on the perception that everybody else already figured out.

The real problem with canonBuffy as time went on was that she stopped trying at all....and became a cold soldier drone....and it never had to be that way.

Phew! Cliffhanger solved. And good the Buffy didn't give in to Riley's wishes. Now she was able to defeat him. And even if she may regret it later; good for Buffy's sake she didn't kill him. In an actual fight, in self defense or defense of Spike? Okay. But Riley was defeated. I'm glad the old Spike was 'back' for a moment to tease/taunt Riley. This gives me hope for his future. I hope what Riley that didn't make it worse.

i really hope, for the life of me, that spike does get his chip and pride back. cause i would really like to see him wipe that smug smirk right off of riley's stupid no neck face!!! spike? not a man? in what alternate universe? lol update soon! i can't wait to read more of your story!!!!!!!!
