Another great update! I love how Spike is getting secure enough to to argue/take small liberties with Buffy. I was SO looking forward to the Angel smackdown...and then I read that he has a back up plan!! Crap! I hope Tara and Willow are able to handle it alone! Can't wait to read more!

The dream sequence between Spike and his demon was truly wonderful, and really beautifully written.
And of course Angel just has to have a contingency plan. I hope Willow and Tara shred them. And then I hope Buffy stakes Angel. Or better yet, ties him up and lets Spike stake him. Well, I can hope, can't I? ;)

I have really been enjoying your story.
Angel sounds scary. Have I missed it or are you going to tell us how Angel seems to have been left alone by the Initiative - is it because he now has ties with Wolfram and Hart? How did the Angel of your story come to be with the 'firm'?
I really don't like Angel, he likes to think that he is better than Spike and therefore can do whatever he wants with him. I really hope that Angel 'gets what's coming to him' for what he has done to Spike.

This is fascinating; I'm really enjoying it. I've never been even remotely a fan of "Slave Spike" stories. But this is developing into an intriguing look at a possible future; and I'm hooked! Very well written, and interesting character development.

Spike's dream was vivid, and I loved the image of the repression forcing the demon to evolve. You're writing the building relationship believably, both parties relaxing into one another. Angel's back up plan sounds menacing, I hope Tara and Willow are able to fend it off. This was another entertaining, well paced chapter.

Playing catch up..The last two chapters have been wonderful! I really have to comend you on the idea of Spike talking to his demon. It helped put a different perspective on Spike and what he has been through, and how he has survived thus far. I REALLY liked how the demon admitted that it no longer wanted the slayer dead...and even called her HOME..That was in it's own way very touching. Can't wait for the next update to see what is going to happen with Angel!

Love the thought (picture) of William (later Spike) meeting his demon and interact with him. And the talk they had this time, the demon explaining to him why he abandoned him. Loved too the demon's acknowledgment that the slayer means home. And Buffy stayed :) Then at last both Buffy and Spike did sleep undisturbed. His team knew what to do should he be unable to secure what he wanted by fair means. Uh-huh.. seems Spike will still be in danger if Angel doesn't get what he wants. Awe :) She run back to Spike. I'm glad she did it after the argument they had. Till next time!

As to imagination can fill lots of gaps? That's what Joss worked with too. (Absolutely to late to search for the right title of that episode in the cellar where everything 'fades to grey' (the camera) and have you seen Mandi's new icons? I got very distracted *gg*) ~ Ethan is in a bit of trouble.. by trying to get them pay for it ;-) ~ So seeing Buffy makes Spike feel save.. loved the line. Those seemingly small things were enough to bring him equilibrium, keep the bogey man from messing with his head and bringing out snaps for him to peer inwardly at; all he wanted to see was right in front of him. And that Spike is falling more and more for Buffy. ~ Oh what did Angel do when the bite marks aren't vanished yet? ~ Hehe, the books Anya did get Buffy :-D Did come very handy. ~ Thought so.. Spike had another nightmare. ~ Thanks for the update!

Wonderful update! I'm really hating Angel. I hope Buffy doesn't fall for his crap! Loving the Buffy/Spike interaction...and now, bad dreams....more tlc I hope. The Initiative knowing about the Cruciamentum just freaks me out!!!!!! This was a great twist to the story! The tension is building and I am already biting my nails! As usual, more please!

This is a dark yet warm heartening tale I've been following of yours. I like how both Buffy and Spike are with each other in this and kinda just trying to find their way. Little by little Spike is gaining himself back a little and its good to see. I hope you continue with this its very well written and planned out.

Ethan's plan seems well on its way. I can't wait until he's Gilesing about Sunnydale! I'm glad Buffy is seeing Angel so clearly. Their meeting is going to be entertaining.

Poor Spike, Buffy should have given in to her instincts and tucked him in. Well, after this nightmare, she should have another opportunity. Another tight chapter here.
