i like the story. as far as I know of its a original storyline, so bravo! creativity is sometimes dificult to find with buffy fanfics.

Really good start. Can't wait to read more. There's another story kinda like this out there right now but both your story and the other one started out much different. I'm interested to see the angle your gonna take with this. Thanks for writing.

Author's Response: Thank you for your kind words, Stacy! I believe the other story you are refering to is Belonging by jl1980. She writes excellent fic (I read her fic myself) and I think I am safe in assuring you that we are taking different approaches to the topic. I would also like to take this opportunity to mention that I am not responding to a challenge. I developed this story my first one (also featuring the Initiative and a chipped Spike - but in a totally different context) became bogged down in detail. I have a set of four Initiative/Spike-centric stories on the go but decided to start posting with Buyer - which my betas have been encouraging me to do since last November. I hope you continue to read and enjoy and please continue with the feedback. More next week.

I'd say you're off to a brilliant start and thanks for availing yourself of two capable Betas. There's nothing that exasperates me faster than an interesting story sloppily written. That is so not the case here and I am looking forward to reading more.

Wow..This doesn't seem like someone's first fic. So far it's really good. Also a great idea : D

Can't wait to see what Spike is like after all these years of being chipped and with the initiative. Will he hate Buffy for picking him?
