A bit of a sad and disturbing little exposes on what all of Buffy's compatriots have been up to. Willow scheming the council and Xander trying to do the right thing for, well everybody and not really nailing it. I also like the fact that Dawn seems to be in on the whole bag of bones thing with Spike. Wonder what that's all about. Great chapter.

Very good Xander characterization. But I still hate his black and white view of the world. It didn't matter how much Spike tried because demons were evil, except if for some reason your name is Anya. And of course humans are all good. I hated how Xander thought that Riley was perfect for Buffy. Beside the fact that he was incredibly boring and had control issues, he essentially cheated on her and put everyones lives at risk. But it was still Buffy's fault for pushing him away. I think that Xander and Spike are both in the same situation. Both of them hurt the women that they love by betraying their trust, by doing something that, if you love someone, would be inconcievable. Obviously Spike's actions were wrong but if Xander didn't think he would make a good husband, why did he propose? Spike is not making excuses for himself, he has tried to make it right, and he is not avoiding confrontations.

Looking forward to the next chapter, and Xander getting hit upside the head with reality. Wonder what Willow has planned. Curious as to what Dawn did, although I figured that it was her. She was the only one that knew he was back after all.

"Ah, ignoring reality, one of the keys to living well. Good thing he’d mastered it so long ago."--A truly wise statement that one is. Love how Buffy was able to be civil, despite the fact that she didn't tell him that she had been looking for him, and that he never revealed where he had gone. And then there is his missing little bundle. Wonder what that's about. Amazing chapter, filled with so much emotion. Breathtaking.

Gahhh!!! Just where it would have been even more good that it already was. Love Giles and Spikes retrospection. Love how he is so busy tryin to figure out which parts of Spike and William are still inside him. And how Buffy knows so many things, but yet, feels very different inside when she thinks about things. Another amazing chapter in an amazing story. Can't wait for an update.

I was so into the flow. Spike all broo--thinking in private. Loving everyones detachment and their retrospect, and then we have a bag of human bones. I love it. So unexpected and brilliant. And now he has a reason to talk to her... Great beginning.

I remember reading this somewhere else and LOVED it! One of my absolute faves actually. I loved the twist you had on the whole thing and Buffy and Spike's eventual reconciliation (did I spell that right?)

great story so far. I can't wait to read more. I love the Dawn/Spike relationship. I always thought that it should have been brought up more. And when Buffy is thinking about how Xander crushed Dawn's dream and stuff. That ruled. One of the best ways to describe it. Wonderful job.
