Oh funny :) Buffy's guardians and watcher "work around" in her life. Caden at her mother's gallery. And she knows nothing. I had to giggle because Spike has to do the ritual. And now his secret is told (that he was a watcher once) :) And Spike tries so hard to be a good vamp and forget about the ritual... And he is insightful; but we did knew that. "We're all in the same lot, pet. We're just all just tools for the Council to use."

So it's time for Buffy's vision quest..I can't help but wonder how cannon this fic is going to be concerning Buffy's skill level..I guess what I mean is...Will Buffy be THE ONE...The best slayer? Just curious about that..

i just started reading this and i gotta say, it's pretty different. i really like it... i like how you made Spike a good guy without giving him a soul and making him all sappy. And i like your original characters... nickolai and caden... great job. can't wait till the next update.

The side effects of the claim.. Spike knew Buffy needed him and did follow the pull. And Spike could cheer her up, she felt better after. *gg* Spike helps her with her homework? So soon little lies can come true :) So he'll help now indeed and even gets some hot cocoa ;-)

It almost seems as if Buffy is a drug that Spike just can't seem to wean himself off of.

During BTVS I always loved how Spike sat outside Buffy's house at night..also I loved the porch scene where Spike comforted Buffy for the first time. You managed to bring these two elements into to this chapter. It was really nice : D Looking forward to more!

So Buffy still remembers / has a feeling that something is missing. *grins* And her friends did notice Spike ;-) And oh yeah.. Buffy feels the pull of the claim (the side effects) even if she don't know what's the what. So when Spike is blanketing the claim and it fades a bit, Buffy can't blame the claim for wanting to be with Spike, huh? (I forgot - and to tired to go looking - so I wonder if Merrick knows of the claim .. the marks are visible enough.)

Author's Response: Merrick knows that Spike bit her and laid a claim... he understands the concept of the claim and agrees with Angel that Buffy being claimed by Spike is not a good thing... well that's how it stands now anyway... Thanks for keeping up with this story.

Awe, Buffy felt the connection and was happy. And Angel forced Spike to break the claim! Buffy had no bad feelings, I think the feeling of belonging to someone made her stronger. ~ But even if Buffy felt something was missing when she woke up that night, Spike didn't break the claim if I'm correct? Then Spike will hopefully prove Angel and Merrick wrong that he did the right thing! We'll see I hope :) And I hope Angel won't try to break it by himself.

Spike is being a naughty boy.. : D Angel can't break the claim if Buffy returns the claim...right? Will they have a chance to do that? I hope so.. I WANT SPUFFY! LOL Great update!

Phew! I feared more bad reading Spike did what he had to do. So claiming her did the trick. Well I didn't really believe Spike would kill her. Thank god I was right. Mmmm seems as if Angel noticed something. ~ Loved the chapter :)

So Lothos has Buffy now *sigh* And he has her in a thrall. Oh my, Spike can't 'reach' her and now Buffy is fighting him "I'm authorized to do whatever it takes for the mission … even if that means killing my charge." That doesn't sound good. Though we have to wait what he'll do. Looking forward to the next chapter!


Author's Response: Thanks... yup.. vampire guards are authorized to kill slayers if they go out of line, similar to what Caden was authorized to do in Chapter 4.

Author's Response: Vampire guards have the authority to kill slayers if needed. The next chapter should show how Spike deals with the situation.
