Oh God, just beautiful. That was unbelievably serene and strangely sad, and yet the ending brought the most cheesey grin to my face. I loved it, even if it did make me feel a bit sorry for poor old Spike.

Wonderful ficlet! Very astute observation of poor Spike and his unfortunate love life. Makes me want to go and hug him just a bit harder :)

Very nice. You really capture the feeling of helpless love. Kind of like a parent for a child, except that parents get something very precious in return, and poor Spike didn't.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you, so much...I try to update as often as I can, really I do. I too am a fanfic reader and know the frustration of having to wait for WIPs to be updated. Unfortunately, RL and the muse don't always cooperate. Thank you so much for haniging in there with me!
