Just discovered this story and read all 5 chapters. You are doing a very good job. As to whether or not to make it just 10 chapters should be your decision, but you ar doing such a good job filling in characters and the way you have Spike talking to Willow and then starting to talk to Dawn, I guess what I'm saying is don't rush it. Also, how about a little more background on Spike. Sounds like after his talk with Faith, something was going on in his past. If Drusilla should decide to do something more to Buffy, I hope she gets caught by Spike. Or maybe he could get more info out of Willow. I'm rambling now. Do lilke the story and please don't rush things to just do 10 chapters. Not much help, I know. Jean

I love this chapter! It's really great...and Spike has to figure it out soon - I mean he's supposed to be smart. When he called faith for help it reminded me of The Nancy Drew Computer Games that you can call her friends and boyfriend to give advice. lol. Great story. I can't wait to read more. And I like at the end how he's given Dawn "the" nickname. And how they are starting to bond. very cool. And yay! Spike is into Buffy!!! Great story. Can't wait to read more!

Aww... The begining of a true Spike/Dawn friendship. It's a wonderful thing.
And my advice would be to make the story as long or as short as you feel it needs to be to say what you want to say. I know that's not much help. Turns me into the Mad Hatter "Begin at the beginng, proceed through the middle, and when you get to the end ... stop."

Author's Response: Isn't it just? This chapter's a bit unnecessary to the plot, but I felt like giving Spike and Dawn a real friendship, unlike so many fics where they just seem to know each other with no real grounds for a platonic relationship. But hey, I'm rambling... Thanks for the advice, I'm kinda leaning towards a compromise between the two. Enjoy the rest!

Thanks for telling you had an update! ~ Good that Willow is such a great friend for Buffy even if she can't rescue her. But she is caring for her. ~ Even if Spike thinks he knows what's wrong with Buffy he is on the wrong track. And asking Dru about Buffy made things worse, I'm sure. ~ Looking forward to the next part and hoping Spike will start to see that Dru is the cause of all the trouble.

I'm happy you updated, because this story is so good. It was a touching moment when Willow took care of Buffy instead of Buffy doing everything. Spike too is showing a good side, but who wouldn't in his place.

I was so happy when I saw the update. I actually screamed. Now my sister is giving my funny looks but oh well. Great Chapter! Yay, Spike is realising that Dru is evil. And Willow is great! Her taking care of Buffy and how Spike saw she was draping her hard protectivly over her? Great. Wonderful story. Can't wait for more. This is one of my fav stories ever!
