I couldnt help smile when I read this, you write these two so well, I could just see that playing out in my head, passionate Spike and denial Buffy!!

Can he make her trust him? I think he has a long road ahead of him. It would take a lot for me to open up to a guy like that and give him my heart.

I'm glad you're not giving Spike an easy way out of this mess he's gotten hiimself in.

I just wish Buffy could admit she loves him, she does doesn't she? I mean as a lover; even Willow gets that!

However, I can understand her denying it, it's so hard, once someone has proved that they're a 'dog' in man's clothing. Spike has his work cut out for him!

I'm glad that they got that out into the open. I have to admit that you scared me in the beginning, but I thought that it ended rather well. Wonder how Buffy is going to react to that last line though. More please.

Away from the computer for a bit, and almost a dozen chapters to catch up on. Spike realizing the damage his behavior and attitude have caused to his relationship with his daughter was realisitc and hard to read. I didn't know how you were going to broach the romance, and having Buffy come on to Spike while asleep was an excellent way to cut to the chase. You've written two complex characters, and I'm enjoying their adult conversations.

"I'm going to make you love me."

Psh, that's definately a bold statement! Now, I'm wondering if Buffy's gonna swoon or bristle. Hm. Can't wait for the next chapter, and I've gotta say, that statement made me smile so wide. Awesome job and great update!

I've been reading, but resisted commenting... up 'till now.

I thought this would be another Spike-whore, Buffy-pure story where Buffy suddenly realises she loves him, he loves her and all his past behaviour would be swept away in the passion... and I HATE stories like that. It demeans both of the characters, IMO.

But here, in this chapter, you've actually written Spike realising his lifestyle is damaging, you've written him recognising what real love is for him, you've written a strong Buffy and... you've had Spike make a commitment, to change. I find that quite refreshing, and it gives me hope that not all new young writers are blind to some of the more damaging excesses of life.

Hopw that doesn't come over as too serious, but I do look for the social message in all stories I read. Fanfic is just as powerful as the stuff on bookshelves. It gives a message. I like to read messages that will give a positive example to people. This story seems to have found a way to tell it without losing the excitement - in fact, it makes the tension heightened...

Author's Response: I completely agree with you on having messages in fanfic as well as the books on the shelves. I try to have some kind of message, or theme to ponder and explore. This has been one of them. I don't like to make things rosy and light. I like to make them as real as I can.Thank you for what you said, it meant a lot to me :)

That was a very smart move Brat..Bringing the dream world to reality..It allowed their subconcious to do all the dirty work..and when Buffy woke up she had no choice but to face the music of how she really feels. I LOVE the way Spike is thinking here. He knows that he has to become a better man all on his own to be worthy of the kind of love that can have with Buffy,
