Hope, Dickinson, and feathers. You make it work, in a world where Buffy's assurance rises from experience, and sounds all the more authentic for that. Nice vignette, with two good voices.

Good story doesn't even begin to cover it...

A beautiful missed moment. You made me all teary-eyed and melancholy. They could have been so perfect together. *shakes fist at Joss* Damn you, Whedon. This is the REAL love story, not that fairytale crap with Angel!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review... I needed that! I think Joss, while wildly creative, has definite sadistic tendencies. How many times did he dangle the carrot of a happy relationship in front of us, only to snatch it away 5 minutes later? Totally agree w/your opinion on what the REAL love story of BtVS was. S/B was so much better.
