aww this is so sweet and it is a new idea of sorts.. i was kinda getting tired of all that spike and buffy hate each other in high school shit and the sexual tension 'got to them'. Not that I'm saying your other stories are like that b/c obviously they're not. but there are so many new stories based on that and i an excited that the background for our heros is a little different. I am really enjoying this story keep up the great work and excuse my ramblings!! lol

Author's Response: Thank you. I always felt that Spike and Buffy (AU/fantasy) would probably have been friends first and foremost. Spike is who he is; outwardly vain and self-assured, but inwardly insecure about so many things. Buffy always seemed to know just how to handle Spike, with an iron fist and sharp tongue. How could they not be great friends first? I am going to pull out all the stops on this fic. I'm going to have some free time in the next 2 weeks (my only child at home, a daughter just made swin team and the High School production of 'Oklahoma!' She's at rehearsal, etc. until 8:00 PM every night for the next 2 weeks. That gives me spare time in the evening to write, so it kind of works out for everyone! Thanks for your kind words. spuf

Well, I'll give it a try! :) ~ I wonder what happened in between the twelve years old Buffy and Spike and the now ( Fate, however, even in the most infantile stages of innocence has a way of rearing up and biting youngsters on their sweet little asses.) Oh don't worry, I like it so far! Too bad Riley had to disturb them ;-)
