It's interesting to watch Spike's reaction at the begin of the chapter. And his joy not having the chip for a while. And he took the challenge, yay! Looking forward to the next part. I wonder how good Spike knows the ritual.

I really, really think you wrote a fine update. But, I am getting madder and madder. If the Buffy b...... gets power over him....I don't think I'll be able to keep reading. I hate how she treats him in this chapter. Her supposed respect for him does not justify making him even more helpless and that is what her dominating him feel like to me. It seems this fic is headed toward being another one that strips Spike of what really makes him unique. All IMHO.
