Well, we've got an idea what we're after. And the idea of seeing Spike's soul glowing white and Spike himself as the blue that wouldn't let the black take over, I love it. I eagerly await more.

Wow! You described William and Spike's souls beautifully. William's white swirling around protecting Spike's Blue, now I understand what Spike meant when he said William might be able to save him. Loved the chapter! Can't wait to read more.

Wow! These glimpses into William's past are so insightful. Buffy's statement about Spike always looking out for his girls is so true. I love how these flashbacks are showing us what shaped Spike into becoming the man he is now. Fantastic update!

I loved the Spike's flashback, the second half of it was so enexpected. And I find it very encouraging that Spike is finding the inner strength for this battle. Can't wait to read more. Wonderful update!

Truly demonic that Travers. Changing that magic to turn it against a slayer. Not quite sure I really understand it all yet, but I love this story. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Remember how Buffy acted after she came back from the dead, like something else had taken over? Well, if the essence of the Slayer strentgthens after a Slayer dies, and is now in the body of a vampire, its natural enemy, it could be bad. Especially if that vampire happens to love her with all his heart and soul.

Thanks for giving us more new info about The Ukesolrill in this chapter. It's probably too far-fetched but I can't help but wonder if Dawn being "The Key " might play into Spike's cure in some way. Can't wait to read more. Great update!

I love how in the midst of all the angst and turmoil a truly beautiful love story is playing out. The Spuffy interactions in this story are a joy to read. Ah, Buffy's finally feeling capable of compassion, and being honest with herself. It's going to mean a lot to him that she's trying.

I agree with Willow about huge libraries...It's a big Wow factor to a knowledge seeker. The largest I've ever been in was the Library of Congress, thought they store so much, it's not like any traditional book library anymore.

It's a fair question to wonder if the essence keeps coming from the same Ukesolrill, no matter how many parties receive it, or if there is more than one of the species out there?
