I loved Spike and Buffy's emotionally charged reunion... it was so painfully beautiful. I like how Giles used Angelus as an example to show Buffy how much Spike changed. Fantastic update!

Author's Response: Thanks M.G. You will notice that Spike, in a way, was responding to *his own* torment. He just transferred it to Buffy. She's a bit overwhelmed right now.

Fantastic update! I liked Spike and Panya's talk. Interesting take on the "Dead Things" dream sequence. Loved Buffy's entrance at the end of the chapter. *bites nails* Oh no! Buffy and Giles are being followed. Can't wait to find out how things turn out.

I am really liking all of the scenes where Spike and Giles are together. Such good chemistry. Which is amazing because they are so different, but they are the same also. Excellent chapter.

Author's Response: I always thought that those two could have had a better relationship. They're so much alike; and maybe that's why they didn't on the show. Who knows?

Fantastic chapter! I loved the scene between Spike and Giles. It's nice to see Giles showing so much kindness toward Spike. Very realistic conversation between Buffy and Dawn. Dawn's closing line summed up her feelings at the moment very well. I'm glad Buffy is following her heart and is not letting Dawn or any of the Scoobies stand in the way of what she needs to do. Can't wait for the Spuffy reunion!

I really like the way you're handling this story. Post grave is one of those times when the story could have gone so many different ways; and it's fun seeing a different vision.

I like the way you handled Dawn's reaction. Dawn and Spike's relationship was one of the things I liked best about season 5, but they didn't ever reconcile on screen. I'd like to think they would have, but ran out of time. Yeah, wishful thinking. I'd love for Spike and Dawn to be reconciled, but making it easy would make it too unrealistic.

i also like the way you deal with Buffy's relationship with her father. I think they only ever have a couple of scenes together; but her relationship with him ( or rather, the lack thereof) is clearly profoundly important in shaping Buffy's future relationships with the men in her life.

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Oh, to have been a fly on the wall during M.E. story-breaking meetings. But alas, 'twas not to be. This is what *I* would have wanted to see. I am so glad you're liking it. As for the father daughter bond. I always have believed that a girl learns how to love from her father. Buffy's wasn't around at all and we all know how that ended, I think this will be a little better. At least I hope so.

I'm loving this relationship between Spike and Giles. Oh, but what could have been....

And Dawn...how like a teen, eh? All she feels is the pain of losing her constant, so she will not go. But...she can't hold a grudge forever.

Author's Response: I always thought the relationship between the two males could have been handled better. Especially after season six. That was supposed to be the "Oh, grow up" season. So how come Spike's the only one who did? Oh well, at least there's fanfic.

Really love this story! I'm such a sucker for post Grave fiction, and this one in particular enthralls me. I'm anxius to see what Giles has planned for Spike now, and why Buffy's going to Africa.

I actually really like Xander, but killing him is an interesting twist. Looking forward to more!

Fantastic update! I liked reading Buffy's POV on Willow and Spike's misdeeds. I think it's great that she's also questioning herself. I find it very touching that she's taken up wearing Spike's coat. Go Giles! I like the way he handled Lydia. I'm glad Spike is safe from the council for the moment, but I doubt Travers will just give up on this. Loved the end of the chapter, can't wait to read more!

Yay! Giles to the rescue! Loved the exciting ending to the chapter. Panya is such a sweetie, I really like him. I'm so glad he decided to take Spike under his wing. I love the fact that even though Spike was in such distress he still bestowed a nickname on Panya. Wonderful update, can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: It is a nickname-of sorts. Panya is the Swahili word for...mouse, so it wasn't a stretch. Giles is a good guy. But, remember he does have a dark side. Kind of like our hero. ;-)
