Again, thank you for spinning a good yarn. There is so much more to your stories than the same ol', same ol'. I like that you do things differently--your own way. I await your next installment with baited breath.

Author's Response: You really know how to make a girl blush. I know its kind of silly to worry about my fanfic being too derivitive (because hello, fanfic!), but I do. Thanks for reviewing!

*grins* I'm wondering if someone will ask Spike which car he took.
Proto-Germanic.. that fits with the The Juniper Tree from the Brothers Grimm. I didn't see it when I first read the chapter. I was too busy reading and start anew to write a comment now.
So Willow is still on her black and white sight of things..
And Willow's words had struck a nerve with Spike because he tries and tries and wants Buffy to see him. I think she started to do it now.
Tara had the explanation for it. So Willow doesn't like the mirror that Spike is for her in not trusting her completely and reminding her what she has done. ~ Wow a cauldron? Very big to steal it. I just went and read the English and the German version of this very tale. I read it before but it is not very familiar for me. I wonder how it is connected; because of *nods* resurrection! Including deadly revenge of the one that killed the son. So it fits indeed. *necromancers!*

Author's Response: Grimm's fairy tales are so freaky! Glad you're liking the interpersonal stuff too. Thanks for the review!

Willow's hinkiness around Spike was well described, and I especially like the phrase "...power harnessed with precious little restraint." Tara concisely put Willow in perspective, and it's a bit disconcerting that Willow's so wary because she can't control Spike or Meret through magic...that means she can control the rest of the group if she pleases. The initial bit with Spike returning Harris' keys was sharply written, and his plans to make up for the theft made me laugh.

Author's Response: You can eat (cast) anything you want except for that one apple (spell). And yeah, Spike is growing a conscience, but it's still kind of funky. ;-) Thanks for the review!

Lol Spike's thoughts are running wild in his head (when he should driving) ;-) He should have a little faith in Buffy. And if Buffy has eyes she sees that he was lying *gg* So he has nothing, huh? ;-)
Uh-huh.. Meret discovered something and it wasn't good: Thirteen necromancer? Things will get tough. ~ Loved the description of Spike's rebirth :) And the update; till next chapter then!

Author's Response: Yeah, he probbly shouldn't be behind the wheel. DWO - driving while obsessed. ;-) Thanks for the review!

Just read all of the prequel and this straight through, loved every bit! I gotta say, I love the McCaffrey influence, I read those books too ;) Keep up the great work, I'll be waiting impatiently for your updates!

Author's Response: Wow, thanks! I love dragons, and as far as I'm concerned, McCaffrey is the master at writing them.

I've had to catch up on your story in the last few days. I don't know if I missed something about the impending doom--I assume--but I can't imagine necromancers and vampires getting on well together. This could be bad. Great writing! Can't wait for the next chapter.

Author's Response: Control over the dead, dead but animate corpses, yup nothing good. ;-) Thanks for the review!

Love Spike's inner monologue (sp? tired here) He is such a hopeless romantic ... That's only one of the 4,576 reasons to adore Spike. And your ever-so-subtle injection of humor here and there is perfect.

Brilliant building of their bonding, albiet over their mutual experience of digging out of coffins buried 6 feet under. Hey ... I am going to FIND every little scrap of potential Buffy/Spike romance/bonding in this story of yours and stitch those scraps into a warm little Spuffy quilt.

You are a 10 on the adventure meter. And a 10 on the intelligently written dialogue as well as wit, humor and creativity. As far as romance ... remains to be seen. (arr arr) kidding aside ... Gotta tell you though .... you are one hell of a writer. Looking forward to your next chapter with anticipation as always.

Thanks again for sharing your talent.

Author's Response: You only have 4,576 reasons? And make your quilt, because I know I am. I'm just really slow. Thanks for the review!

Spike's deep thoughts about the interrupted kiss were hardly obsessive at all! Thirteen missing necromancers? Cue creepy organ music here. I enjoyed all the detail in Spike's introduction to his new life, and his understanding that his journey from the grave was nothing like Buffy's. The two of them bonding while detecting is making for a lot of quiet time in close quarters. This was another well written, tight chapter.

Author's Response: Spike? Obsess about Buffy-kisses? Never! ;-) Then again, Spike being introspective, especially about his past, is always fun to write. Thanks for the review!

Buffy's agitation came of the page in waves, right up to the quiet, romantic scene on the back porch. Dawn's entrance was pure slapstick, and I love Meret angrily chasing her back inside.

Author's Response: Meret's pretty fun to write as the voice of reason, especially since she can't talk. ;-) Thanks for reviewing!

Another tight, entertaining chapter. Tara's frantic tale distracting Spike into a rose bush was funny, as was Dawn's hair. Even with all that, there was a sense of urgency throughout the chapter. I love the idea of the enchanted mirror.

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad my bizarro humor isn't undermining the overarching plot. I sometimes wonder considering my penchant for birdwalking.

This chapter was rife with funny images and vivid details. Spike providing a riding crop as Buffy's "weapon" and Anya's line about "ineffective sex games" made me laugh out loud. Spike's search of Giles' apartment beautifully balanced humor and suspense. Spike testing the flask's contents for tampering made me smile, and Meret's "He fades" sent a shiver up my spine. Lovely job with this chapter. I was on vacation when you posted, so now I'm off to read the latest two as well, what a treat.

Author's Response: Welcome back! I don't know why I've been feeling like goofing around, but I'm glad the humor is appreciated. Thanks!

Dammit Buffy!! You're ruining my moments! Get with the Spike lovin' woman!

But points for Meret, though Dawn deserved a good nip.

Author's Response: Hee! All in good time. I think I have underutilized Meret's mad biting skillz. Maybe I'll rectify that. Thanks!

I knew it! Nothing can ever be that simple. But the moment was still perfect up until Dawn interrupted... Buffy actually thinking about what's going on, and reacting like it's a real connection and not a lust thing, is a nice change from canon... and it makes perfect sense in your 'verse. If the result of a Buffy who's thinking and feeling is more shuffling and near-misses, that's ok with me. Even if I do want them to get it together. *g*

Author's Response: And it only took me thirty chapters to get to the point where I thought a functional relationship was possible. Those crazy kids... Thanks for reviewing!

I'm so glad they've got at least an idea of what's happened to Giles now. And the last scene with Meret and Dawn - what a kick!! I really enjoy ALL the interactions among your characters.

Author's Response: Thank you! My Spike love knows no bounds, but I enjoy the rest of the cast almost as much, so it's fun to write them all.

Oh neat! After all seems wrong Tara and Willow took a shortcut. The Scoobies need all the help they can get, all members. Oh yeah.. the even have an inkling what has happened. Lol loved the scene on the porch (I have seen new how is it called figures, puppets? of Buffy and Spike from this scene, it looks good) and how Meret chased Dawn that disturbed away again *gg* Love it :)

Author's Response: Meret's a riot to write, I'm just glad you guys seem to enjoy her as much as I do. Thanks!

Oh Yee of Little Faith !!!!! Of course I love you after that last chapter.(never worry about me) Your writing is pure genius!!

As far as this particular Spuffy lover is concerned ... simple gestures such as your touching scene outside with B and S was goosebumpy romantic enough for this point in the story (those moments are soothing to this Spuffy soul ... I don't need them rolling around doing things that are illegal in many states in order to call it Spuffy romance)

Meret is just too perfect ... you're gonna need to trademark her or something. I love what she did with Dawn. Keep up the masterful tale, it is awesome!!

Author's Response: Hee, "goosebumpy romantic" wasn't something I ever expected to hear about one of my stories. Thanks! I'm pretty certain I've forfeited trademark rights by posting Meret online. ;-) Grar, need to stop hanging out with lawyers.

This chapter was such a joy to read. From tripping into the rose bush to the totally cool mirror (wish they were for real and for sale) the creativity and humor just amaze me. You are really talented. Cannot wait until some Spuffyness begins ... we are all out here waiting ... come on, don't be shy.... (hee hee)

Maybe the laptop damaged gave Willow a lesson. Loved the rosebush *gg* As was the mirror ah.. hairdresser *big grin* Spike must be really worried.. he even forgot 'his own cell phone' means Merrit. She called Buffy quicker than Dawn could :)

Author's Response: I love Spike to death, but yeah, he didn't always think things through. Too bad my solution for the problem is also a snarky serpent that is driving him even more batty than usual. ;-) Thanks for the review!

Just wanted to say again how original your story is. I enjoy it to death. Can't wait for another chapter. Have fun getting set up at school again.

Author's Response: Whew school. If they'd stop cancelling half of my schedule and then sticking a blender in the rest, maybe my writing wouldn't be so haywire lately. Thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you're liking my crazy plots.
