Oh my goodness, it took me two days, but I finally read all of the chapters. I like this story, and I liked the essay you provided a link to. The lessened anxtiness of this is great. Erm... Shwat else.... Spike and Clem's man-talks are great. I'll be keeping tabs.

Author's Response: The essay was part of the reason this story came about in the first place. I was displeased way too many times in the actual s6. And I think I have one more Spike and Clem man talk to go before this fic is through ;)

That was just in time... Buffy almost didn't make it (as in managed to kill all her friends and Dawn).
Spike didn't see it... Buffy doesn't want to be in 'her' Sunnydale any longer if she can't have Spike.
Looking forward to more! I hope it will get better for the two. Dawn is right, they are acting like children as in both are a bit stubborn.
Xander's reaction was harsh but I didn't expect it in another way.

Author's Response: It will so get better. And Buffy and Spike acting like children? Nothing new there, lol. Name calling and hitting... Preschoolers. As for Xander, well... it's Xander, and he doesn't like to see his bff's get hurt. So yea, it would have been atypical for me to have him say "Gee Spike, thanks for knocking her out- she was totally whacko." That's something Dawn would say. Anyway, thanks for agreeing with me and reviewing every chapter. Awesome :D

Author's Response: Really, that should have been the end of the previous chapter, only I didn't think of it till about a day or so later. You see, a lot of the time I post in haste, and haste makes waste... Next time, I will consider the entire ep and its ramifications before posting a new chapter.

Absolutely not disappointed.....you fixed it! I always thought that Spike, hot-headed though he is, would have had the wherewithal to check on Buffy.

I'm intrigued to see Xander's reaction when he realises that Spike has been spending intimate time with Buffy with no intention of killing her.

Wonderfully set up for whatever happens next!

Author's Response: Yea, I totally didn't get how they had Spike just storm off when he knew she was still a bit nutty... That's why I added this (short) ending. Otherwise, it would've left a big, gaping hole in my fic. Silly me ;D

i thought xander was a little better towards spike now, but just the thought of spike being able to hurt buffy without the chip and he goes back to being an ass. he should know that spike wouldn't hurt her, well, not intentionally. i don't think he had to knock her out though, she seemed to be less crazy before he did that. sorry to say that i'm not feeling this story as much as i was. i hope buffy and spike get back together soon. i liked it better then and i don't think the break up was really necessary, but maybe that's just me.

Author's Response: Wow, this kinda broke my heart... However, you must know that Xander (cept for that part in "Empty Places") will always be over protective of Buffy, especially when it concerns Spike. As for Spike knocking her out, well, it was abrupt and to the point much like he is. When she was catatonic in s5, he didn't try to finesse her out of it- he punched her in the face. And besides, in s1, Buffy did the same thing to Xander in "The Pack." Yes, they will get back together soon... and though it's a tad angsty now, it's still not as traumatic as the real s6 is it? And the break up, well, Buffy siding with Riley REALLY pissed me off, and I had to fix it. Even Buffy said that she was wrong (in "Hells Bells," in which she states that she deserves what Spike was doing for revenge- his date). Anyway, please see it to the end. And this reply clearly shows how big a geek I am with all of the ep references. Yep.

Author's Response: I think in some shape or form, Xander will always not only be a bit clueless, but still a bit prejudiced towards Spike, even though he does like him some of the time.
