Giles is still 'fighting' against Buffy being with Spike. She almost acted the way Giles wanted it. Good that Spike isn't the type of vamp to give up so easily :)

This thoughtful, talky Buffy is a joy to read. I'm enjoying how open and friendly she is. Spike is taking the openness cue from her and returning it in kind. How can I criticise when the story flows so well and the characters are all acting in character if not in canon? Really, this is well written with sharp dialogue. Dawn is especially well realized, and her interaction with both Buffy and Spike is funny and smart (and smart mouthed). I'm looking forward to how Buffy and Spike's relationship will change Season 7's storyline.

Yay! Buffy did make Spike dancing ;-) Even if she had to threat him to find someone else before he did it. And then just like old times.. the balcony. And noisy sister so no fun ;-)
And then the fun ended and realty came back.. another dead potential. So no more fun for now, Buffy got all businesslike. Ah well welcome back reality. ~ Sorry, I'm too busy reading to criticize. :)

It certainly scares *me* to have Spike be the responsible adult! Very Nicely done.

Great look at Buffy's insecurities, and gorgeous Spike/ Dawn interaction. Granted I'm a total sucker for Spike & Dawn, but this one hit all the right notes. This is the conversation I spent season 7 hoping they'd have. After Chosen I decided that they must have had it off-screen, I couldn't bear to think he'd died without that relationship resolved.

And there's an update! This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite stories. You have a real gift for dialog, and both your Spike and you Buffy are absolutely in character. Wow!

Tee hee hee! That's just wonderful. I LOVE how you have them dealing with everything in their inimitable Buffy and Spike fashion, not too angsty but not in the least bit saccharine, never glossing over their checkered history but not getting paralyzed by it either. Great stuff, and the last line was priceless! More, please! *grovels again*
