Loved Buffy's insights about how everyone treads her and the difference to how Spike does :) And that she said (even if not to Spike now) that she loves Spike. And knows he'll do it too with or without the slayer powers. The attempt to dust Angel and Giles offering to hold him for Buffy? Fun :-D

Ah, so it is the incredibly horrible birthday and the incredibly guilty watcher. Wonder how Spike's influence will jigger the mix?

I can almost hear Spike from "Foold for Love" telling Angel “'Now you’re gettin’ it.'” Very cute how she said Spike was sweet & possessive-- and how he wouldn't let her forget. I like how he likes to take care of her, and that he's fully cognizant that Buffy isn't taking advantage of feeling weak or being a dependent person like Dru was. I love that Spike is still a panty-stealing bad-boy, too! Most of all, I like that Spike is willing to suffer and hold back on his want for Buffy in order to prove how he *feels*. I love the depth to which Spike feels-- and hopefully this will make Buffy realize it and appreciate it, too. It was sweet the way he was caught up in Buffy calling her feelings "warm fuzzies"-- Guess he got his crumb! But I really can't wait until Spike discovers the mark of the claim! Looking forward to the next chapter, and thanks for the great update!
