excellent chapter. I thought it was great that she went to angel like that. It's human nature to want to feel better after someone hurts you and find comfort in someone else. Spike deserved it.

Well, Angel definitely has his theory confirmed, now, with Buffy calling him Spike after kissing him. And the vomiting - big hint, too, since being mated means she's uncomfortable around any other male.
I hope that she slips up and Spike sees the bite mark. If he sees it, I just know he's going to put two and two together, since he'll know right away that it's his.

Really feel sorry for Angel here. He hasn't been a bad guy in this fic. Their relationship has just run it's course, and Buffy's behavior is making it all so painful.

Can't blame Spike for his outburst in the last chapter, either. She certainly hasn't considered his feelings before now, and he hasn't had anyone to talk to, and Spike is not a solitary creature. He craves to be in an accepted group, or pairing. It's been his search all his life.

Mmm I wonder why Buffy thinks kissing Angel would make it all better ~ I wonder what Spike plans to do now... ~ Buffy thinks she is kissing Spike? But it is Angel. It made her feel good because she thinks it is Spike and yet it was the perfect revenge on Spike (but she didn't know that). Spike is devastated. ~ Oh Angel didn't like it to be called Spike :) And Buffy? *grins* I thought is was fun even if Angel didn't like the vomit all over him. And now she is running.. I wonder if she'll run towards Spike because that will make the pain lessen. And I'm looking forward to find out who the others will react: Spike knows Buffy touched someone else even if he doesn't know yet it was Angel. And Angel knows that Buffy's thoughts are with Spike. :)

Two - no. three reasons Buffy finds herself kissing Angel almost minutes after her spat with Spike: needs instant reassurance from someone she just knows loves her beyond just the physical, he's a vampire so she can close her eyes and make him Spike and thirdly, she's a young girl whose love-life began with deep emotion, sex and then heartbreak and is currently going with sex, deep emotion and now heartbreak. Who wouldn't have had a gutful, and puked, after that?

Still, the trigger has been pulled, now. Angel knows. Spike knows about ...... that. And Buffy has reached a point of cold horror, and disgust and regret and done the only thing left for her wobbly legs to do: run.

And at the moment, all three - two vampires and one slayer - are feeling the burn of the bullet.

Love your story.

That's the trouble with Spike's "window-dressing": it's too damned effective in convincing other people - and in this particular, malicious instance, Buffy - that he means what he says, and then some. This vampire may be all at sea with his ex and his sort-of current girl, but it has never stopped his brain knowing what he should do, what his problem is - and it has certainly never stopped his articulate invective hitting the spot, which the kinder, softer lover within never really wanted to target.

Still, if he's at war with himself, only right that she should have some aggro ....... but yes, the window-dressing is just that, his venom is short-lived and instantly regretted, and once more this pair's torment is heightened and space is put between them, both literally and figuratively. The twists and turns are great; it's all part of their dance.

okay.....that was funny but i felt a little bad for angel. and since i don't feel bad for angel often, that's saying a lot. lol. anyway, great job. i like that your writing the whole claim thing differently. it's all unfolding at a great pace and i can't wait for more. please post soon.
