Well, you’ve definitely done a primo job keeping the suspense up. I can’t wait to see what this encounter entails. You are an amazing writer, and I so enjoy your story. I will wait patiently or not so patiently to see how this plays out, but I still feel that Buffy is the one putting everything out there on the line. As far as looks are concerned, Spike is the actor here. And the way he’s split himself into two halves of one person, he is able to compartmentalize his “job.” I don’t see him giving anything up or being vulnerable in any way to Buffy, and it’s driving me crazy. Even Lorne said Buffy has some things to overcome. But he also said the encounter would be good for them both. It is cryptic. For Buffy to admit she even needed this kind of help and then to actively pursue it, and then to actually go through with it not once, but twice, shows an enormous amount of courage in my view. She had to trust that Spike would catch her during all their time together. She had to trust him over and over again. Spike has never, so far, had to lay himself open like that to her. I’d like to see Spike/William become completely vulnerable to what is happening between himself and Buffy. After all, he has things to overcome also, and this situation with Buffy should show it clearly to him. He has admitted to himself that he’s ruined for any other, but he hasn’t had to voice it, live it, put it out there and hope Buffy catches him. He needs to trust her, too. Anyway, as always, I anxiously await your next update. You’re doing an amazing job with your writing!

Author's Response: Oh its definetely not going to be an easy road for our couple - or for me writing it either, but thats half the fun is the challenge. It will take time, they won't be a 'couple' right away by any means, but when they do... oh baby. Yes, Buffy is courageous, but it is in due part to her 'control' issue. It is her blessing and a curse... she needs to find the balance or miss out on what life can give her - or William in this case. William/Spike will have their own set of revalations, trust me. There was the very last time William was with Buffy. He did kinda lay it on the line, but he didn't speak, he showed everything through his eyes and how he, ahem, made love to her so to speak... thus the reason Buffy is a little confused as to what was real. But b/c he hid it behind his eyes and actions, you're right, he has his own issues that need overcoming - low self-esteem being one of them. On your comment about Spike/William voicing that he's ruined... that will come about in roughly a chapter, maybe two, and it won't be in the way you think. It'll be subtle, but I think you'll be happy with it. It's part of the road they need to travel. Thanks for the totally awesome review hon.

so glad that lourne is trying to get these crazy kids together. i mean, i think he knows deep down that william isn't cut out for this type of job and that he's lonely. i really hope the plan doesn't backfire on lourne though. all with the plan backfiring on buffy! lol. great job. post soon. can't wait for buffy and spike's little.....encounter. as always, amazing job.
