Author's Response: Absolutely. It really is the best thing for Spike right now. He's been wrapped up in his own affairs and in wanting Buffy so badly that taking a step back can be helpful... as well as for her too. It's horrible when people do the rebound thing but it does happen. I didn't want Buffy to be anywhere near perfect in this fic and for once, be the more evil of the two so she can grovel later for it, lol. Thanks for the review and the well wishes honey. I'll cross my fingers on the ebook too and work hard at it.

As far as our couple. Can't blame either for the direction they are going. Buffy trying to find a substitute for Spike and Spike trying to get back home.. to someone that loves him.

This was such a heartbreaking chapter, beautifully written as always. You made me feel so sad for Spike, and although I know Buffy has reasons to act as she is, it doesn't stop me from wanting her to be the one that would have to grovel an ask Spike for another chance. Everything was going too smoothly, right? I love a portion of angst in the midst of the romance and hot sex, but I don't see how Spike's going to forgive some of Buffy's high handed, snide remarks. Even being all hurt and betrayed, she was really scathing. Throwing the "love" in there at the end was a saving grace, though...
