Hee, I loved the return of inner slut!Buffy. I had truly missed how she states the obvious, even if Buffy doesn't want to admit to any of it. *giggles* I loved the familiarity and the wonderful way Buffy and Spike interact with each other, they fit so well together. Buffy is starting to see things, like the possibility that its love, BUT, because she hasn't decided for herself how she feels it's a tough pill to swallow. Let's face it, would anyone willingly enter into a emotionally involved relationship with a man who they think/know (remember, she doesn't know he will no longer sleep with other women, just that he still works for Lorne) is still a prostitute? Highly unlikely. In her mind, he isn't suppose to fall for her, She's suppose to be a paycheck, but when he starts acting all in love it throws her for a loop. Yes, William is very close to admitting his feelings but he still doesn't want to say those three magic words for fear of sending Buffy running for the hills. He is, however, so passionate in his love for her that when 'caught-up' in the moment, he doesn't realize what he says. That's the Spike side of his personality, speak now, think later. No, Buffy still has no clue that Spike's not working as an escort. She only knows he's still working for Lorne. Spike doesn't see how incredably stupid it is to NOT tell her this. All his mind can think of is doing what he considers the honorable thing... wash his hands completely of the prostitution business and then admit everything. He believes that there's no way she would want to be involved with a man who has any connections to such a lowely business as that. What will Lorne say when he sees Buffy? Well, he isn't going to play informant and give her the inside scoop. Lorne is the type of guy, and especially considering his ability, that believes in not interfering in the natural progression of things. He knows that in order for the couple to be and have a successful relationship, they have to want it and do what it takes of their own volition to get there. He has already played a role on the side in getting them together and helping when things go wrong, or planting seeds of thought, but anything more would be 'medling' in his mind. He sees they both have major 'issues' and when people do, they need to work through them on their own. I'm so glad you liked the chapter sweety and so thrilled you're still here with me.
