A great chapter: very passionate, with a tender build-up even after Buffy's somewhat uncomfortable conversation with Lorne. The 'action' is both vivid and realistic and very, very successfully conveys that spark between Buffy and Spike. O.K. - more than a spark.

When I saw that you'd updated, it seriously made my day. :) Great chapter. Ugh! If only things could have been simpler... That police siren thing scared me, I was like "omg, William is going to be arrested for being a prostitute!" Then I hurriedly read through the rest of the chapter and gave a sigh of relief. :) Can't wait for more, and I hope you had a happy holiday with your husband! (Awesome alliteration!)

The sweet temptation site wouldn't let me leave one unless I signed up for an account, and of course it took me until now to get the idea to look for you somewhere else. Hey, I never claimed to be a genius! ;) I hope you didn't think I abandoned the story, because that's just unthinkable. Girl, you rock my world. Seriously. I find myself lumping you in with all the classic spuffy authors (Nautibitz, Kantayra & Holly are a few of my favs), because this story is just sooooo good. All the awards and nominations are well deserved. And I know most people are thinking "oh man, why can't they both just tell each other already, so they can be together" but I for one am glad that this is stretching into more & more chapters. Too often I read a 5 or 6 chapter story and wish that there was more! But, like I said a few months ago (wow has it been that long?), you don't drag it on and on pointlessly, either. The story's still progressing very nicely. Kudos again! And glad to see the updates are starting again, we all missed you for the past month. Keep it up! :)

Author's Response: Awwwww, ST is having some problems in that there is spam attacking reviews every five minutes so Yani had to suspend reviewers until she could resolve the problem. But I am glad you came here and got caught up/reviewed, it's so very good to hear from you. Oh my, lumping me in with those lovely authors is truly a compliment, thank you so very much. I'm continually amazed by the nominations and such cuz hey, first story here and all, but I strive to get better and better b/c I'm really enjoying the whole writing process. oh yeah, I'm sure everyone wants our couple to just come out and tell all and fall into each others arms, but that would indeed make for a very dull story in my eyes as well. Nope, I got it all mapped out and we're a little more than 3/4 of the way through TE. There's more that needs to happen, to be realized, etc... before the 'getting together' can take place. It's all spuffy in the end, it's the journey that counts. I am sooo thrilled you're enjoying the pace, characters, and path I'm taking them down. spike & buffy are quite "inflammable", huh? but... even if she didn't say "stop", and probably didn't really wanted to stop, the fact that she thought they should (stop) means that her head isn't in sync with her body. And maybe her body already knows the truth, cuz he showed it, but her head still needs to hear the words.

Author's Response: LMAO - maybe just a tad hot - *wipes brow*. You're review made perfect sense, and you're absolutely correct in your assumptions. Buffy is unable to say 'no' because her body knows the truth - both about him and how she really feels. And of course her mechanical way of thinking about things is so deeply rooted and such a habit, she refuses to even ponder the possibilities of what she could have, even when it's staring her right in the face. So her body let's her know by not even putting up a fight when he touches her. Rocky morning? No, not really, you've nothing to fear about that which is all I can say for now. You'll have to let me know how you like the next chappy - it's a relatively pleasant one, nothing bad in it at all. Thanks for such a wonderful review, I'm floating on cloud nine from finally being able to write, post, and get back in touch with everyone here at TSR. Big smoochies to you hon.

Ah.. so Lorne only told him to send flowers but not so may of them. And he phoned.. I understand why Buffy didn't want to discuss things with Lorne because he is William's friend too.
Then William came looking for her. Buffy is so torn what she should do (between the head and the heart). I hope she won't regret (accuse William) because she did give in to him. ~ Loved William steeling the thong again and his thoughts around it (helping her searching for it and making sure she won't find it *gg*).
And the blending of William with the best of Spike seems to really work :)) When it comes to Buffy at last.
